I'm looking for some patch settings from the early software release.

Any help greatly appreciated

The GR-700 shared identical sound engine as JX3P Keyboard and MKS-30 Planet-S Rack Synth - all were among the earliest MIDi synths, and the MKS-30 was a favorite of Danny Elfman for early Oingo Boingo tracks. JX3P can be heard on early XTC and Depeche Mode tracks

All use the optional PG-200 programmer and Sysex patches for any three can be loaded into the GR-700

FWIW I had an early one then some years later another later one and the tracking was noticeably better on the latter - assume the software update makes that difference as I used the same setup / string gauge etc

(update: V1.5 has the upgraded tracking it can perform pitch detection in half a cycle rather than one cycle - as I said it made a notable difference - there are pairs of eprom chips for sale on reverb and bay to upgrade this for about £20)
