Why doesn't GT-1000CORE have FX4 ?

GT-1000 & GT-1000CORE are supposed to share the same sound engine. Why doesn't CORE have FX4 while the big brother has FX4.

I'd assume that the only difference between these 2 models are the extra footswitches and expression pedal.

Any thought ?

Different price structure between GT-1000 vs GT-1000Core means  different hardware capabilities

It pays to disregard the marketing hype, instead download and compare the manuals and parameter guides for all gear before purchase

Since the GT-1000core has dedicated stereo input, they probably felt the GT-1000 Mono only mode for FX4 was not suitable on GT-1000core

IMHO the full GT-1000 is a better deal and not as big as competing MFX (Helix, Headrush )

I think the GT1000 having the bluetooth editor capability is worth the extra alone (not available on GT-1000Core(
by the time you add an exp pedal you are not really saving much space with the core

I'll point out the GT-1000 with Bluetooth MIDI is only available in certain countries, due to local region EMI/RF rules and regional EMI/RF Bluetooth certification fees which Roland / Boss determined were not worth the expense - so no Bluetooth in some regions

( similar occurs for Vox ADIO GT Amp)

My CME WIDI Jack has been backordered months,  do suggest order from a store with inventory.

GT1000 Core provides shimmer fx taken from the 500 series of boss pedals while the big brother has not. An interesting difference depending on the music the owner plays 8).

Sorry for digging up old threads!

I tried this the other day, I have an iPod Touch and an free app called MidiMttr.  MidiMttr lets you setup a bluetooth "MIDI BLE" host on your Apple device.  I also have a Roland UM-ONE USB Midi interface, unfortunately I couldn't connect the UM-ONE to the GT-1000Core, but the GT-1000Core BTS app on my iPad was happy to connect with the iPod Touch's MIDI BLE.

I suspect that if I had a MIDI interface connected to my iPad and that was connected to the GT-1000Core, if I connected to any MIDI BLE device that would return the messages the GT-1000Core BTS app was sending, if they then routed to the MIDI interface, the app would connect to the GT-1000Core.

I also have a Raspberry Pi setup as a MIDI host, and I've just read yeasterday that you can set one up as a MIDI BLE Host as well.

If I get to any of these experiments, I will post them here!

Last night I tried using the GT-1000 BTS app on my iPad which was connected via bluetooth to the iPod Touch running MidiMttr.  Plugged into the iPod was a Steinberg UR242 and its MIDI ports were connected to the GT-1000Core.

This worked, but very poorly.  When I changed patches on the GT-1000Core it either took a very long time for the name to change on the BTS app or it never changed, and the screen on the GT-1000Core was missing characters.

One of the patches had two wave pedals and that was probably overloading it.  I'll try that again tonight.

OK, if I stay away from the patch with the wave pedal, it works ok.  It's slow.

I wonder what would happen if I tried changing some of the settings that aren't in the core version?

What 'should work' with the GT Core is CME WIDI uHost device which is a USB host (with Roland/Boss driver built in) plugged into the Core USB port.
And the iPad should be able to pair the uHost via BLE Bluetooth directly to Tone Studio.
