I read this post on the KVR Forum and thought I would share latest YRG status.

"yesterday i actually wrote to Kevin from inspired, and he promptly wrote back,
i was asking for a further ship status, and the thing is, they discovered a
bug that they are dealing with, but i am 90% sure that it WILL be shipped
this week, sooner than you guys think."

I figure nothing will ship until AFTER the "E3" gaming convention later this month.

http://www.e3expo.com/

Might be able to get a scratch & dent demo unit on June 18, after E3 convention.
I suspect they are negotiating terms with the big electronic chains, but need to show them that Inspired has over 100,000 Facebook/Twitter friends in order to convince they have enough YRG demand in the marketplace. Although I figure the retail price must double in cost before any retail store  begins to show real interest and everyone makes a profit.

. . . the future ain't what it used to be . . .

Thanks for the update. Lets see if they call for another month delay...

Certainly good to see some carton on the ground. Is that China or US? Seems like they now have more than a couple boxes to go around so I hope our pre-order customer #s come up soon...

http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/18/wowwees-paper-jamz-fake-guitars-make-the-jump-to-2d-gain-some/

Just when we thought Guitar Hero had removed every shred of dignity from the once proud profession of "rocking out," along comes Paper Jamz to do away with all pretense. WowWee, known primarily for its creepy robotic toys, has put some of its technical chops into a new musical line of utterly flat instruments. The "paper" guitar and drum sets use capacitive sensors to pick up on touch, and there's even a fake amp built of cardboard to complete the ensemble.

Surprisingly, it all works. Each $25 guitar is packed with three different songs, and pretend rock stars can strum along in three different modes: a fail-safe mode where all you have to do is keep strumming and you'll jam out the appropriate guitar part, a rhythm mode where you have to strum at the right intervals, and a freestyle mode. The last of these is where things actually get interesting, since there's a usable fret board in so-called open E tuning, letting you select actual cords by placing a finger on its respective fret up or down the printed-on fret board. One finger does major, two fingers does minor, and three fingers does a 7th. It's an approximation, sure, but it actually could teach a kid a lot more about how to play a real guitar than Guitar Hero ever will. Prepare to hear more 12-year-olds playing "Smoke on the Water" than you ever supposed the universe was capable of containing. The modes on drums are similar, and you can pair up drums and guitar to play the same song simultaneously. The $15 amp uses a sonic transducer to vibrate its entire, cheap cardboard mass, and is actually rather loud. The "Series 1" selection of guitars and drums will be out in early July, and you can check out a video of this stuff in action after the break.
. . . the future ain't what it used to be . . .

Elantric-fgn

The New You Rock Mode ONE allows you to hammer-on like Eddie Van Halen without a single mistake. And if you don't want to use one of our jam tracks use, try our FRET SELECT technology and choose any major or minor key with the touch of a fret and never play out of key... if you play more, you get better, and if you get better, you play more. Practice is dead."    less

Its my observation the latest YRG status and shipping news is being transmitted ONLY at this link: (no Mass Customer Emails as promised in April.)
Its just been updated within the past 24 hours:

http://www.yourockguitar.com/blog
=====

"Pre-Orders Arriving!
Our 1st batch of You Rock Guitars is in transit to the USA. Because we have customers pre-order months ago, we've been making phone calls, verifying contact & shipping info, etc, in the expectation we'll be fulfilling those orders this week. We've decided to bring the first shipment by air since we're already late. We're tracking it in real time, and expect delivery on Tuesday. The plan is to start shipping out on Wednesday in the US 1st - for various reasons including quality control, costs, regulatory approvals still required, etc. If you've purchased the You Rock Guitar worldwide, please check our Distribution page here on the site and check with ask your local dealer.
We're bearing the expense of airing this first batch of products, and working with our distribution partners (ezGear, DBL, and others) to allocate product in the order received. We're doing the best we can to manage demand - and grateful for the passionate enthusiasm of our customer base. It's a nice problem to have, but a problem nonetheless - and we recognize that. Now that production is underway, we'll be catching up in the US and abroad as quickly as we can.
If you're wondering about your order, please contact us via the support page here on the site.

Several customers have ordered accessories to the product; from Game Flex Cartridges to Carrying Case Gig Bags. We don't have all of them yet. But we won't delay shipping your guitar! We'll send you that first, and send out accessories as they arrive later this month and into July. If you prefer to wait for your guitar until your accessories are part of the shipment please let us know - contact information can be found on the support page."

"If you have a pre-order your getting yours next week (depending on US carrier) If you haven't pre-ordered, we're almost sold out of the first run."
Kevin Kent

Here's a pic of  a stack of 46 Latest YRG's at the  Chinese assembly plant  last week.

----
(snip)
Its my interpretation that an "official YRG Pre-Order" is specifically defined ONLY as those customers who placed an order at this link, when the YRG Shopping Cart went online Jan 25, 2010 :
http://www.inspiredinstrumentsinc.com/

All Other "preregistrations" (EZ Gear, DBL, Soundtech UK) are NOT considered as a "Pre-Order", and will be shipped at a later date.

MCK-fgn

Thanks for posting that blog entry. Good news indeed. I wrote to them and told them I'd like to wait for the Wii cartridge to be available as well so they can be shipped together. Since I'm using a parcel forwarding service from US to Japan for this item I don't want to be hit twice with the mailing costs.

This was posted on the Yahoo MIDI Guitar list today:

======

"We called the accidental pre-paids (PayPal) guys first.

Now were just going in order of the order. IF we can't reach you, we'll send
out an email later in the week. IF you are on this list and haven't ordered yet,
I will just say this... after the E3 show next week, the marketing department
wants us to go to Suggested Retail price for $219.99. If you wait to order, you
can't say I didn't warn you.

According to an insider post at Yahoo MIDI Guitar Forum:
http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/midiguitar/message/30262
"
The 1st US Shipment of You Rock Guitars has cleared customs in Memphis, as of
early this morning. (June , 8, 2010)"

So I figure Fedex was used from China to USA ( just like an HP Laptop)

This actually means that a large shipment of YRG's left China last Friday (via Fedex Air), and have arrived at the Main Fedex Sort facility in the USA ( in Memphis, Tennessee) and have (as of this morning) cleared USA Customs, and are now (Pending foul weather, tornadoes, etc) currently on their way via Fedex Air to Inspired Instruments in Irvine, California. Under the best circumstances they will arrive at Inspired Instruments by 10:00AM tomorrow - Wednesday (June 9, 2010.

Hopefully those who pre-ordered the YRG will all get phone calls and emails in the next 48 hours  - to verify our current shipping address, and whether we want to add the new folding gig bag to our order. Earliest possible date/time for any of us on the YRG pre-order list  to obtain a Fedex Tracking number is tomorrow afternoon. (Wednesday  - June, 9, 2010)

Arrival will occur at Inspired Instruments on morning of Wednesday June 9,

And Shipping to Pre-Order Customers begins June 10.

Above is just my opinion.
. . . the future ain't what it used to be . . .

MCK-fgn

I have an email from YRG in my inbox this morning!!! Thanks for your update.

They assure me my YRG will be shipping within 48 Hours.

I had a bunch of emails going back & forth with the new "Customer Loyalty Manager" at YRG. Its an eery feeling. After total radio-silence for so long I can't believe I am treated like a paying customer. Kudos to this new guy. I told him he put the YRG in You Rock Guitar. I nicknamed him "You Responsive Guy"!!!

So I'm wondering if they actually did ship some of these (including mine)

Anyone get a tracking #?

MCK-fgn

Mac, no tracking # yet.

Wow !!! It comes with a manual right out the box. Now that's one leg over our favorite tech guitar dujour!!! Well done YRG. Personally I had written you off as the vaporware of 2010 but its great to see your comeback and growth... Just saw this in the media :

Posted from TechCrunch

Inspired Instruments Raises $1.25M, Lets You Rock Out On A   Digital Guitar (Video)
Inspired   Instruments, makers of a portable, real-string digital guitar   dubbed the You Rock Guitar, has raised $1.25 million from a number of private investors in   preparation for the launch of the You Rock Guitar platform and to move   forward with a line of accessories and software solutions.
The company's flagship product, the You Rock Guitar, is a mobile   digital guitar and game controller that plays nice with the Wii,   PlayStation 3, your computer, iPod / iPhone, iPad, your amplifier or   stereo and with popular games like Guitar Hero and RockBand.
The round of funding, Inspired Instruments' first, was led by   co-founder and CEO Kevin Kent and Executive Vice President JR deSouza.   Says co-founder and president Cliff Elion:
"We are ready to take Inspired Instruments to the next   level by expanding the distribution, infrastructure and product   development team. By securing capital for this venture, we are right on   track to truly bridge the gap between playing games and playing real   instruments.  In fact, Kevin and I did our first MIDI guitar more than   25 years ago and sold that to Gibson – this guitar leaves that   technology in the dust."
You can't buy one straight away, though – the company says they're   currently back-ordered. According to the website, the product will set you back $219.99   (list price).
