I just purchased an E1, so I'm not heading down the Collectors Edition road anytime soon. This is a good (starting) price for a PaulVo model, though.

Here's another one and apparently it remained unsold at this great price.

Lets see

$129 string sets

The one I played at NAMM had very slow Slow sustainer response.

It was not the type of instrument that would motivate me to think about moving my assets to fund the $3K purchase price.

but i'm sure others can find very interesting sounds from it.

I had the same experience of feeling like the sustain response was slow on some of the earlier Paul Vo models that I played, yet not on others.  In fact, on some of the Moog Guitars I played I felt like the Sustain sound was so much louder than the standard, plucked sound, that the overall effect was distracting and not all that pleasing.  However, on my E1, the sustain is very fast and the sustained volume matches the plucked volume very nicely - in fact, depending on how you have it set, it feels VERY VERY natural - as if the note you just played is smoothly sustaining forever.  My sustainiac comes close to this sometimes.... but I really do like the Moog sustain system a lot more...mainly because it's polyphonic.

About the string prices - You made it sound like one set of strings is $130!  That is a pack of 12 sets of strings for $130.  Sure, $11 for a set of strings is expensive(!) but it's not completely totally outlandish like $130 would be!

Did you see a Moog actually SELL for under $2K?  A Paul Vo Model? Where? I'm not seeing that even on "completed auctions" on ebay...but I could still believe it could happen.
