I'm looking at purchasing one of these two.  Obviously there is a big price difference between the two.  My question is, however, just on the GK difference between the two - would the floating bridge on the xtSA be a factor in possible 'artifacts' being introduced in the system vs the fixed bridge of the LGX-SA (e.g. vibrations in the springs)?  Thanks, in advance!

The tremolo presents a high potential source for injecting  sub thump noise anytime your palm touches the bridge and can promote Gtr to MIDI  mistriggers

A TremolNo lock helps

Be prepared for the sonic difference of Piezo vs GK-3 magnetic PU

( and both have same impact on latency - Piezo is not faster)

I owned both, and the LGX-SA is superior in every way.  A more comfortable design, stunning looking, and just a better playing guitar IMHO.

Thanks for both of your responses...think I'm going to save the extra coins and grab an LGX-SA

I agree with lespauled. While both play well, I prefer the SA. And as Admin mentioned, the TremolNo helps a lot for the XT.

There is also the LGXT which is the trem version.
I use one currently.
Don't have any issues with it driving an sy1000 or vg99, however I don't use it much for PTM.

I've owned all the variants over the years. They are great guitars, I highly recommend them (lgxt, lgx-sa, xtsa).

3 voices with trem opens up a world of possibilities. Did you play the LGXT on this nice composition?

I had an LGXT and loved it. I used it with my GR-55 for years.
It was great! The only issue I had was with the RMC transducer saddles.
They sounded great but some of them began to "short out" and had to be replaced.
I got scared and ended up going back to a GK-3. But I did love that guitar...

I have an LGXT that's about 12 years old, and an LGX-SA that's even older. I've never had a problem the piezo bridge on either one.

I have had LGXT and SA. I prefer the SA. Not sure why.

gearhound22

I have the LGX-SA & LGXT

I like both but the LGXT had this crazy tremstopper that sits in the spring of the guitar.
Its brilliant! It blocks it for general things like double stops but if you give her a little you can divebomb with it...I'm don't think it was intentional either lol

Both mine are LR Baggs piezos...not sure how they compare to RMC

The tremstopper does not come standard on the LGXT. :)

I had a LGX-T for a while too and I really liked it tone and playability wise but it didn't stay in tune very well, especially when using the trem.  But it's a superior guitar to the xtSA.  There is a nice congac LGX-SA on The Gear Page forum right now if the OP is still looking (not mine).

I prefer my Brian Moore guitars to the Godins I've owned, though I did like the Jazz Multiac SA that I had for awhile a lot.

Sorry for my rather tardy reply to your inquiry and thanks for listening!

The strumming was an LGXT with a VG99.

The lead instrument was a fretless guitar (an old Kramer Striker I ripped the frets out of) with an ebow.
