GUMTOWN WROTE>
Katana MK2 - Gumtown's Katana MK2 FxFloorBoard Editor

The Katana MK2 has a very different internal memory/address structure from the predecessor.
It is a departure from the GT-100 address layout which the GT-1/GT-1B also used.

The structure is much more compacted, with all the GT deadwood chopped out, a patch data file is now less than half the size of a Mk1 Katana.
The *.tsl files from "Tone Studio for Katana MK2" are of a different format now too,
rather than a text parameter description followed with a numeric value,
the file structure is made of grouped system exclusive sequential data strings.

Which comes to Katana FxFloorBoard editor,
and will the current FW3 version work with the MK2 Katana?
simply put... NO.

will MK2 BTS *.tsl patch files open in FxFloorBoard?
NO.. not yet.

Will the MK1 FW3 FxFloorBoard editor get updated to load MK2 BTS patch files?
Yes.

Will there be a Katana MK2 FxFloorBoard coming?
Yes.

Ouch. Sounds horrendous.

Colin's (Gumtown's) efforts are a moving target - check back in a few months and I doubt you will have same opinion.

A Simple Matter of Programming.  Nothing Colin can't handle with the style and grace we've come to expect from him!

You could put it like that once the swearing, cursing, and anguishing parts have been censored out.  ;D

Hello. WHat's the current state of the FxFloorBoard for the MK2? I just saw that there is a version released back in 29th March. Thanks

gumtown

Still working on it. It is currently at a state where it should be functioning, and the finer details are all that is required to be updated.

Oh, I didnt mean horrendous about him, just that the app structure for the new one was a moving target that he was trying to nail down. Ive programmed a bit in .net, and ANGOSS/Smartware,  and pseudo in SQL and I fully appreciate the difficulty of trying to hit a moving target.

Are there any issues with FxFloorBoard not showing the Sysex at the bottom when you enable debug?

I've been trying to verify a few things but it's not showing?

That feature is currently not in the MK2 version,
I will post an updated version in the next few days with sysx data in the bottom status bar.

Hey Gumtown, did you manage to have any luck with this in the end?

Ever the legend! That would be amazing.
I did update it to include sysx data display in deBug mode.
I think just the Windows version, was a bit hurried updating a few this before I went on vacation.

No  just Windows at the moment.
I loaded the SY1000 driver into my Mac system and now it has unrecoverable boot error. So my mac is totally wiped out at the moment. Will rebuild next week.
And Im still away on vacation at the beach.

Did you ever get around to fixing the debug option for Mac so we could see the debug sysex as they come and go?  It looks like the last posted update for MKII Desktop for Mac was Jan 1, 2021: https://sourceforge.net/projects/fxfloorboard/files/KatanaFxFloorBoard/Katana%20FxFloorboard%20for%20MK2%20Desktop/

(Although for your sake, I do hope you're still chilling on that beach)  ;D
