My new Iphone XR (IOS12) rendered my Line6 Sonic Port useless

Just replaced my old Iphone with an XR loaded with IOS 12 expecting to have  lot of cpu power to make a lot of musical things without the slightest problem.
What a surprise when I plugged my loved Line6 Sonic Port (the small and ultra portable but reliable one) and the sound start to disconnected intermittently sounded distorted and was totally unusable.
Tried with a Sonic Port VX and the result was more or less the same. Finally tried with a RME Babyface (connected to a powered usb hub) and then all started to work very well. After that tried the SP VX connected via a camera adapter connecting the VX to a powered hub and it also worked correctly. So I came to the conclusion that the problem was the power in the power supply to the USB device.
Searched about usb devices and find some advice about an option about usb devices and activated it, but the problem relaxed a bit but I cant use my Line6 SP anymore without connect a powered hub (which is impossible in the small SP no VX).
So in conclusion I cant use anymore the Line6 VX.
So what happened? the XR is a fault design or its a IOS 12 problem? Anyone can send some light to this issue?

Ive been mentioning why I avoid IOS12 on several threads

IOS 11.4 was last known stable version for Audio/MIDI

Everyrhing since then has been brickwalled off - must have MFI certification

I read about your advice but a new Iphone mean the latest IOS. add to that that the latest version of MidiGuitar only works on IOS 12 ... I keep my Ipad and my old Iphone in IOS 11.4
Anyway...IOS 12... the problem seems related to power the usb devices (not a small one, but can be resolved with an USB hub and probably with an USB3 camera adapter?)  in the other areas (latency, real time, stability, cpu power etc) seems to be a good performer.

Would be interesting to isolate if its a specific Iphone XR problem or an IOS 12 one.
Anyone with IOS12 installed tried with a usb audio interface which drains the power from the IOS device to see how it performs?
Or any other Iphone XR user around?
Thanks in advance.

Ask same question at  Line-6 SonicPort VX Forum

but I never understand the kudos folks at TGP give to Line-6 customer support - as it appears its been over 5 months since anyone from Line-6 visited their own Forum

I think its not a Sonic Port related problem, because I have also a VX and it works perfectly when I power it with an USB powered hub.
So it seems it is a power managing related question, IOS12 or Iphone XR is the point.

the SonicPort VX has an updated chipset with lower current needs vs the original SonicPort

SonicPort VX uses same cable as Line-6 Mobile Keys 25 and 49 - and many types are available (30 pin, Lightning, USB)

If it was a brand new iPad Pro with USB-C - the Apple USB-C to USB adapter

and the SonicPort VX USB cable should work
