Noticed a mention of this in another thread and found this in the manual

MONO IN Input Jack. Use this jack to input any analog signal to your AXON. The AXON will then convert it to MIDI
information.

Anyone have experience using this? Was it any good? Would you use it together with a 13 pin for even better tracking? I wonder why they took it away with the mkII?

It's solely for single lines, such as a flute or violin. It's effectively using the circuitry which is applied to one channel of the hex input. I don't think you can use it at the same time as the GK input.
