I did this with my GT 001, and it works like a charm  :)
Open RDIF1148.INF in a text editor...
Change the following lines from:

%RDID0148DeviceDesc%=RDID0148Install, USB\VID_0582&PID_0187 ; GT-001

[Roland.NTx86.7]
;; not supported

It seems you might have something and similar edits might work for your other Roland drivers. Did you alter the installers and reinstall or did you edit the files in the RDdrv001 directory?

I just uninstalled all Roland drivers which were partially installed (Win 8.1), then altered INF file (from Win 8.1 32 bit installation folder) like i wrote earlier, hit Setup.exe and hey presto! It works, at least for my GT 001.

I don't believe it! I did what neskop said and it worked.

I have just updated Window7 to Windows 10 and then tried to load Boss Tone Studio but it said it couldn't find the drivers, so I thought I would just reload the drivers and I would be good to go, but no. As soon as the driver started loading you are asked to connect the USB and switch the GT100 on, I did that and it just sits there doing nothing. So I uninstalled and tried again but still the same.

I then saw neskop post so I thought I would give it a go, there are some minor differences as I am using a GT100 instead of a GT001, the file name is different ie RDIF1149.INF not RDIF1148.INF, but I did what he said and I then successfully loaded the drivers and I can now use Boss Tone Studio on Windows10.

Thank you neskop.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering about this, as I have a GT-001 incoming  :)

ivor-honda

Just a quick update, I was also having a similar problem with my Edirol UM-2 USB midi interface, so I did the same thing, downloaded the drivers for Windows 8.1, altered the .inf file as Neskop suggested, deleted the old drivers, installed the "modified" driver and now the Edirol is working as well.

Thanks again Neskop, I would have never done it without you.

Riff1964

I had upgraded to Windows 10 without checking driver availability .... duhhhh

I have followed these instructions - no success - decided to wait for BOSS to catchup.

Hi guitar Fans!!

So, to change the .inf file is work for me, BUT:

When i install the modified driver, the windows does'nt install it because:"The hash for the file is not present in the specified catalog file. The file is likely corrupt or the victim of tampering."

This is the solution:

You need to disable device driver signing check!

For this, please to do:

1. Select the "Start" button.
2. Type "startup".
3. Select "Change advanced startup settings".
4. Select "Restart now" under the "Advanced startup" area.
5. Select "Troubleshoot".
6. Select "Advanced Options".
7. Select "Startup Options".
8. Select "Restart".

When a menu will appear where you can press "7" on your keyboard to choose "Disable driver signing enforcement".

And that's it! Now you can istall the driver....

This is the link:http://www.technipages.com/enable-disable-device-driver-signing

..and for now my GT-001 is really working under windows 10 x64!

Thank you!

Here is a better idea, don't mess with anything. they have the GR-55 and the GP-10 drivers and the rest can't be far behind. Be patient and don't brick your PC.

#1 create a Windows System Restore point 1st
If you start trying many different USB ports on your computer - you WILL get a clobbered driver install.

try to determine which specific USB port on your computer is the most compliant to USB2.0, and then ALWAYS use that same USB port to connect the GT-100

read the "README.htm" file in the Win10 driver zip download, (must extract the files inside the zip for to read these important instructions and perform the detailed steps for the manual USB driver install
QuoteDriver for Windows 10
Your computer automatically downloads the Windows(R) 10 driver from the Internet when a product requiring the driver is connected to the computer.

and you MUST have a fast internet connection and lots of patience - could take 30 seconds or 4 hours of retrying

and use a USB 2.0 compliant port on your computer  - many computers with only UBS 3.0 or USB -C ports only may not work

Cautions and Limitations
•Sound interruption or other less-than-perfect outcomes may be experienced if your computer's performance and specifications are somewhat inadequate. The types of applications you use and the way in which you use them can also influence the experience you receive.
•If the PC is started up while the GT-100 Ver2-1 is still connected to the PC with its power turned on, the driver may not be loaded properly and you may not be able to use the GT-100 Ver2-1. In such cases, connect the GT-100 Ver2-1 to another USB port or turn on the power of GT-100 Ver2-1 after the PC starts up.
•If the GT-100 Ver2-1 does not work correctly after resuming from Sleep mode, you should exit all applications that use the GT-100 Ver2-1, and then turn the power of the GT-100 Ver2-1 off and on again.
•If the USB cable is disconnected and reconnected while the GT-100 Ver2-1 is in use, or if the power of the GT-100 Ver2-1 is turned off, then on again, it may stop operating correctly. If this occurs, after resuming, you should exit all applications that use the GT-100 Ver2-1, and turn the power of the GT-100 Ver2-1 off, then on again.
•If your computer was experiencing a heavy processing load, such as when accessing a CD-ROM Drive or network while the GT-100 Ver2-1 was being used, the GT-100 Ver2-1 may no longer operate correctly. If this occurs, stop the playback or recording, then try starting playback or recording over again. If you are still unable to play back or record, quit all programs that are using the GT-100 Ver2-1, then turn the GT-100 Ver2-1 off and then on again.
•Audio clicks and pops may occur during playback or recording if you connect or disconnect other USB devices (such as USB memory) or turn another USB device on/off while using the GT-100 Ver2-1.
•In some cases, you may not obtain the expected level of performance if you're using a USB-connected hard disk at the same time as the GT-100 Ver2-1. Do not use a USB-connected hard disk as the storage destination for the audio that you're playing back or recording.

About the items in the Settings dialog box

SAMPLE RATEDisplays the present sample rate.
To change the sample rate, select a sample rate from the menu.
* When the sampling rate is switched, a small pop noise may be heard, but this does not indicate a malfunction.
Audio Buffer SizeYou can adjust the audio input/output buffer size. (By default, this will be the sixth position from the left.)Decreasing the buffer size will shorten the latency and improve realtime performance, but might make it more likely that you will experience audio clicks and pops, depending on your computer's processing power and the song data load.
Increasing the buffer size will lengthen the latency, but will make audio streaming more stable, and it will be less likely for audio clicks and pops to occur. In general, you'll probably want to decrease the buffer size for better realtime performance if you're playing a software synthesizer in real time, or if you're monitoring an audio input that's being passed through your DAW software.
Conversely, you can increase the buffer size to prevent audio clicks and pops if you're recording or playing back song data that contains numerous tracks and presents a heavy processing load.By changing the buffer size as appropriate for your situation, you can obtain the right balance between realtime performance and audio streaming stability.
* Note!
If you use an application with an audio equipment test function, after changing the buffer size, carry out a test.
ASIO Buffer SizeThis is the buffer size that can be set by the ASIO application.  "Match with the ASIO sample rate" check boxThis option matches the Windows sound sample rate, e.g. MME, DirectSound, or WASAPI, with the ASIO sample rate. Select this check box when using an ASIO-compatible application concurrently with a Windows sound-compatible application such as Windows Media Player.
"Show README" buttonThis button displays the README file (this document). InformationThis field shows the driver version.
