If the message "System Extension Blocked" appears
When connecting the device for the first time after driver installation, the message "System Extension Blocked" might be displayed.
If this happens, click [OK], and then unblock by the "Check the security settings to see if the loading of the driver is blocked." procedure.
In "System Preferences," click "Security & Privacy."
Open the General tab and check if any message indicating the loading of the system software being blocked is displayed.
* If it is not displayed, restart the computer, connect the unit to the computer, and then check the display again.
If displayed, confirm that the publisher is "Roland Corporation" and click "Allow".
* If the loading of system software of multiple publishers is blocked, click "Allow" to display a list of developers. Select "Roland Corporation" and then click [OK].
If asked to restart, click [Restart] to restart the computer.

MACOS HIGH SIERRA (MACOS 10.13) DRIVER INSTALLATION AND TROUBLESHOOTING
This describes how to install the driver for macOS High Sierra (macOS 10.13) and perform troubleshooting.
* For information on individual products, check the listings in Readme.htm in the download file.

Installing the Driver
Troubleshooting --- If the Installed Driver Isn't Recognized

Installing the Driver

* Keep the product and the computer unconnected until "Step 5."
* The "*******" portion contains the model name for the driver being installed.

1 Start computer with all USB cables disconnected.
(except the keyboard and mouse)

2 Double click the *******_USBDriver(.app) or *******_USBDriver1013(.pkg) just downloaded to start installation.

3 Follow the instructions in the dialogue boxes to proceed.
* If the message "System Extension Blocked" appears, click [ OK ].



4 When the "The installation was successful." message appears, click [Restart] to finish.
* If you are prompted to confirm wether to move the installer to the Trash, click [Keep].

5 When the computer has restarted, connect the unit and the computer using a USB cable, and turn on the power to the unit.

6 Next, allow the driver to be loaded.
       When you're installing the driver under macOS High Sierra (macOS 10.13), permission to load the driver is necessary.
       If this permission is not given, the computer does not recognize the unit when it's connected.
      Be sure to follow the procedure below to allow loading of the driver.

7 In "System Preferences," click "Security & Privacy."




8 Click the [ General ] tab.
     Make sure the message "System software from developer "Roland Corporation" was blocked from loading." is displayed.
     The message "Some system software was blocked from loading." might be displayed instead.




* In the following cases, no message is displayed.

* The message about being blocked is displayed for only 30 minutes after installing the driver. When 30 minutes have passed after installing, the message is no longer displayed.

* If the message is not displayed, refer to Troubleshooting --- If the Installed Driver Isn't Recognized.

     When a driver that has previously been allowed is reinstalled.
     When you're using a machine on which the driver was installed before updating to macOS High Sierra (macOS 10.13)

9 If the message is displayed, make sure "Roland Corporation" is displayed as the developer and click [ Allow ].
    * If system software from more than one developer is blocked from loading, clicking [ Allow ] displays a list of the developers.

     Select "Roland Corporation" to place a check mark by it, then click [ OK ].

10 If a message prompting you to restart is displayed, click [ Restart ] to restart the computer.

     This completes installation of the driver.
     * Installed in the Application --- Roland --- ******* Driver folder is a readme file and an uninstaller for the driver.

Troubleshooting --- If the Installed Driver Isn't Recognized

     The unit cannot be used even though the driver compatible with macOS High Sierra (macOS 10.13) has been installed.

     The installed driver might be blocked by Macintosh security.
      Follow the procedure below to unblock the driver.

1 In "System Preferences," click "Security & Privacy."




2 Click the [ General ] tab.
     Make sure the message "System software from developer "Roland Corporation" was blocked from loading." is displayed.
     The message "Some system software was blocked from loading." might be displayed instead.



3 If a Message Is Displayed
     Make sure "Roland Corporation" is displayed as the developer and click [ Allow ].
     If a message prompting you to restart is displayed, click [ Restart ] to restart the computer.
     * If system software from more than one developer is blocked from loading, clicking [ Allow ] displays a list of the developers.
     Select "Roland Corporation" to place a check mark by it, then click [ OK ].

If No Message Is Displayed
     The driver cannot be unblocked.
     Uninstall the driver, then refer to the procedure in Installing the Driver and reinstall it (steps 1 through 14).

Uninstalling the Driver

To uninstall the driver, use the provided model-specific uninstaller (Uninstaller(.app)).
The uninstaller is located inside the folder for the downloaded driver (*******_USBDriver).

1 Start computer with all USB cables disconnected.
(except the keyboard and mouse)

2 Double-click "Uninstaller(.app)."
* Uninstaller is provide for each specific model. Use the Uninstaller program for the model on which you are uninstalling.

3 Follow the instructions in the dialogue boxes to proceed.

4 After the message "Uninstallation is completed." is displayed, click [ Restart ] to restart the computer.

    This completes uninstallation of the driver.
