I am new to all of this, so please forgive my naïveté.  I just acquired an Axon AX-100 guitar to midi converter and I see voices on the screen, but I get no sound out of the soundboard ports. On the back of the unit under 'model' is printed AX-100, then written next to this is '3.02'.  The serial number area is blank.   Other functions seem to work per the instruction manual I downloaded, which is dated December 2003, 3rd edition.  Reading through this forum, I see mention of a separate sound board, and I notice in my unit a 26 pin connector, and a large area to the right of the main board which is vacant.  I am guessing that my unit doesn't have a sound board, that it didn't come with one, or it was removed at some point.  Having sounds in the unit would be an advantage to me, so is my assumption correct that there is no sound board here, even though I can cycle through 256 different sounds shown on the display?  If this is true, then how would I go about acquiring a sound board that would be compatible with this unit?
I will be changing the battery, as the original one has become detached and is starting to corrode.  I don't think that would affect the sound or lack of sound, only the memory of any changes.  I use a Fender Strat with a Roland GX kit installed that seems to work fine in controlling the AX-100.  Thanks for any advice you can give me.

It appears your AX-100 has no internal "WaveBlaster" board.

The Yamaha DB50XG was the original type  (circa 1994)

There is one currently on Ebay -

Its essentially the same sounds as their line of Yamaha "MU-xx" "XG" Synth Tone Modules

This equivalent WaveBlaster Board also works on AX-100
