You can't "play" the GR55 using a MIDI file but...If I record the output as midi...what equipment or soft synth would I need to approximate the sounds?
Not worried about  perfect duplication.

This is a link to my experiment, using the midi out of the GR55, into my Casio wk3000 keyboard. In my example, I was activating the auto rhythm of the Casio....but it also works to play notes or chords. I also have used the GR55 into my computer to record midi, using the Power Tracks program (PG music). I don't remember if I used the USB or midi out for that test. The Casio is on the left channel, GR55 on the right channel...the recording is 'live' playing.....then I just edited out the spaces when I changed rhythms.  :)

I also tried hooking up my GR20 midi in to the GR55 midi out, and that also worked. I just tried that at home, as my goal with the GR55 is to keep my setup playing out simple...just a Zoom G2 (on 1/4 inch jack from guitar to amp) and 13pin to the GR55. My amp (Roland KC300). The amp line out then to the house (direct box)
