...also - forgot to mention this before... we have all the new performance presets from the iphone version [FLUX:FX play] that can be opened in the iPad version from dropbox.
Just go here http://bit.ly/FLUXFXpresets on your ipad and open them directly into the app.

How do I easily load them all into Flux:FX? I have not owned my iPad Air2 for long, I have never owned any Apple product prior, and I have never used Dropbox (I have not found need for it as of yet).

What's the status on FLUX:FX?

I noticed that it's been more than a year since the last update (24th of Jan, 2015).

I hope the project is still active, because I'm about to shell out some bucks for an iPad Air 2 in order to integrate it within my setup along the VG-99 and GR-30 and I hope I won't regret it. :-)

It's a very powerful tool -  nothing broken and still works well.

I love it on my iPad AIR2 with Yonac Tonestack

$5? I must've clearly missed something.

The page above conveys that the cost of the app equals to $20, and that the last update took place on the aforementioned date.

Could it be that the data is outdated? I don't own any Apple device, so I can't directly check it in the App Store.

Elantric, do you own an iPad Air 2? I was thinking of maybe following the cheaper route and go for the iPad Mini 4, but I slightly fear performance issues with the Mini 4.
I'm not really concerned about the screen size, as I notice that the app has been incredibly optimized for touchscreens.

But all in all, I don't really know. This would be my very first Apple device ever.

I suggest find a gently used AIR2

I got my "gently used" iPad AIR2 128GB  for $425
i just updated my iPhone 6 Plus to IOS9 and its weird because the links to iTunes store for  Flux:FX are different than the desktop experience by  a mile -

it was particularly annoying that on my mobile device I could not locate a link to purchase NOISE:FX anywhere on the official site here
http://flux.noii.se/

and I continue my gripe that the name is very confusing - because a search in AppStore for "FLUX" - never yields any hits  - instead i always get this
FLUX by belew™ - never the same twice
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/flux-by-belew-never-same-twice/id906354039?mt=8

and apparently because FLUX:FX is an iPad only app, using Safari browser on iPhone to the official site
http://flux.noii.se/
"hides" the link to purchase.
:-\

Regardless -on iPad AIR2 - Flux FX is a stellar FX app at $19.99.

I see! Interesting benchmark results. I didn't expect the Mini 4 being so far behind. Here in The Netherlands, I can buy a refurbished iPad Air 2 64 GB for EUR 450 directly from Apple, which equals ~USD 500. Doesn't look like a good deal.

May I ask how you integrate your iPad w/ FLUX:FX into your VG-99 setup? I assume it can be done with something like iRig?

I have an audio interface with four inputs (2 for VG-99 and 2 for GR-30), but I could spare one for the iPad and play the VG-99 or the GR-30 in mono -- not a big issue, although I'd prefer the GR-30 to stay stereo.

Unless it'd be possible to put FLUX:FX between the VG-99 and my audio interface and directly alter the signal like that.

This is always the most complicated process when trying to expand your current v-gear -- trying to keep everything compatible with the GK interface, accessible (and recordable) in a clear and concise manner. It is always a chore, isn't it? ;D

Sadly my favorite source for used iPads (CowBoom)has folded
Today I own quite a few IOS devices, and find the older members of my collection still offer too much value to re-sell, instead I re-purpose these older devices as test gear, or MIDI controllers or Strobe tuners, or Media players

Remember if you buy an IOS application, you only need to buy it once, and then you are allowed to re-install it on every IOS device you own.

I was a bit underwhelmed with 2015 iPad Pro, and know that 1st generation Apple hardware should be avoided, because the 2nd generation typically resolves many bugs and typically is much faster.

Back in 2013 I wanted to get a faster iPad than my 2011 iPad 2, so I got an iPad Air 128GB Wife+LTE and paid full retail ($940) within the 1st month of release   but  I  keep it on IOS 8.4.5 to avoid the well known higher overhead of IOS9

During the recent 2015 holiday I located  iPad Air 2 64GB Wifi  with IOS 9.1.2 at www.Cowboom.com (a BestBuy company where lately Ive been finding the best deals for high end "open box / refurbished" computers most 50% discount compared to "new"   )

iPad AIR 2  runs all my music apps MUCH Faster with lower latency than my iPad AIR. But i quickly discovered 64GB is too cramped for me.

So I stumbled upon another yet another deal,  iPad Air 2 128GB Wife+LTE for $450, on Ebay and it just arrived - very clean, probably never used since it still has IOS 8.1.1

So today I have two iPad AIR 2's (which I view as being far more useful than one iPad Pro) and as luck would have it  - I can now compare IOS 8 vs IOS 9 on essentially same hardware for audio latency , pops , clicks, lowest buffer settings in Aurai Pro DAW, BIAS FX, Yonac ToneStack. (Stay tuned for a report)

We caught up with multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, producer and guitar guru ADRIAN BELEW while on tour in Vienna on 15 February 2016. We wanted to learn about the current power trio tour, his latest app "Flux", how he gets into the "creative zone", as well as playing DAVID BOWIE songs in San Remo. We also wanted to know from Adrian what makes the guitar special for him. For more information, please refer to http://adrianbelew.net/

We do roughly the same in one rig, except we are using the sub outs into the Focusrite iTrack Dock and then into a little mixer.
So,
VG99 main outs into 1-2 on mixer
VG99 sub outs into FLUX:FX [hosted in AUM] on the iTrack into 3-4 on mixer
VG99 guitar out into a pedal board into 5-6 on mixer

Adrian Belew is using FLUX:FX in a more straightforward way at least in his live rig:
Keeley comp into Axe-FX/vg99/GuitarRig/custom rig into MOTU ultralite III, out into an irig stomp set to 100% bypass or 100% FLUX:FX.

Good point - we will fix!

Here is a track I created running my guitar into my iPad using IK Multimedia's iRig Pro. The pre-recorded sounds were made, largely with a great app called Borderlands. I am playing over those sounds with IK Multimedia's Amplitube and Noiise's Flux:FX by Adrian Belew in Audiobus. I play a note and then hold it with Stutter Loop, which engages when I touch the screen. I can also have a Ring Modulator on that engages simultaneously. I am changing the parameters of each effect as I move my finger around the screen. When I touch the effect square the effect stays on even if I lift my finger.

I finally got around to trying out Flux:Fx with Jamup through Irig and Audiobus 2
I'm a very happy camper , nicely surprised by all the possibilities.
The only problem might be to use the wild fx in moderation , not my forte.

First impression GREAT !
Finally something inspiring
One snag , crashing a few times during a 2 h sitting.
Will return with more after playing around with it a bit more

(Would have liked the tempo in the sequencer to be randomized as well as set.)

I play Country music too, I'm just not sure which country it's from...

Flux may not be compatible with upcoming iOS upgrades. It has also had some complaints of not being stable/crashing. I'm not sure if they are investing further it in it.
Otherwise, I would have bought it a long time ago.

It's a bargain stable or not
get it , it's my advice.

Which is why I refuse to update my iPad Air2 beyond IOS 9.3

Thanks for the kind words on FLUXFX guys. We are working on the 64bit compile at the moment so hopefully we can get it ready for the iOS11 release.

Great !
It's been a long while since I've been so happy with a new sonic app or hardware !
The best fx / interface so far. The only thing I needed to check the manual for was the flux button :)

One request though , Would have liked the tempo in the sequencer to be randomized as well as set.
For playing non tempo based music that'd be great. Smooth helps a bit but....

I played my first live recording today with steinberg headless with sustainer, Irig, Jamup, Flux:FX , Loopy HD on a iPad 9,7 32 Gb IOS 10 , ( not the pro ) not one glitch nor crash !
Using only the iPad as controller switching between presets in Jamup , Flux and looping in loopy
works as a charm, the only thing I might incorporate is a volume pedal before Irig

Its tricky - we did try this but it gave some performance issues to be adjusting so many time-locked parameters on the fly, so we couldnt keep it.

I would love to see this as a vst plugin!

Same :) we also thought a lot about that but it would involve a complete rewrite of the code into a new language. Its not yet viable... but never say never.

So what happens if you change tempo randomly with midi ( midi clock or tap tempo )
I can't try since I don't have a midi for my iPad. ( half and double tempo works fine with rapid changes )

And I'd love a Au plugin , Itd work great on a MacBook , both playing / recording live and mixing.

And thank you for the comment about the vortex song. ( it'll be on the next cd )
It's recorded with the presets already in Flux: FX with tweaks in the moment.
And it's the 2nd sit down with the app Flux the first with Loopy, so I'd say that both
have a very great and intuitive UI ! Flux is awesome in that respect ( as well as the fx)
