Title: Connect with local FGN Members!
Post by: Elantric-fgn on January 09, 2010, 05:02:52 AM
I created a new area here for FGN members to hook up with each other, and have the ability to create a Local FGN User Group.

We have many resources here on our Forum which can be utilized for this process:

The Calender
https://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?action=calendar (https://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?action=calendar)

The Member Map
https://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?action=googlemap (https://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?action=googlemap)

The Member List
https://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?action=mlist (https://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?action=mlist)

If you are inclined to form a local FGN User Group in your area, use this area of the forum to make connections,  post local events, meeting schedules, etc.

It was me, I think  ::)  I was trying to re-do pin location, when I pressed 'change profile' I lost my picture.
As it was on the 'No Pic' setting.
There use to be, add your own photo......thats what I can't see now.
Can only choose photos that are supplied !

How do I add my own ? can't see how or where !

That will teach me to stuff around  ;)

They have RUM in Jamaica too?  Wow...I never got around to sampling any of that.... at least, not that I can remember....

Nope - The Kingston he's referring to is right here near Seattle.

Wow, there are two of us in Perth, but sadly a third  is awash in the Indian Ocean.  If not on a whaling ship, I hope they dont plug their Dark Fire in out there, it could get really dangerous! Although if its an original battery, the charge probably wouldnt do any damage.

This is a GREAT idea though, really nice use of the map!!! Thanks FGN mods as always :)

I've been up there 2 times. Very remarkable. One time was right at sunset. Awesome.
When the Harbour Bridge was opened on 19th march 1932 'New Guard' member, Captain Francis de Groot upstaged Premier Lang,
who was set to officially open the Bridge, by riding in on horseback and slashing the ribbon with his sword.
Premier Lang then had to wait for the ribbon to be retied before he could ceremonially cut the ribbon with his Golden Scissors.

When the ribbon was slashed by Francis de Groot people started to run across the bridge before they could stop them for the re-run of official opening.
Well my late Dad was one of those people, he always said to us that he & his mates where the 1st to cross the bridge.....Bit of History !

Yep I've climbed quite a few times, legally & before as a young teenager in the 70's.
One night 4 of us climbed it after a night out........yes drunk  :P
To my amazement  :o when we reached the top. There was my (older) brother & about 6 of his mates sitting down.....Drinking !!

So you see 'The Harbour Bridge' has significant memories for me.

Ahr History & the memories...... ;D

I also worked in a butcher shop under the bridge in Kirribilli in the 80's, the Dunny was out the back & could
here all the traffic & trains go past....But the RATS were as big as cats, huge things.......Creepy!
