GI-20 better than the VG-99 for controlling VST instruments?

Regarding my VG-99 settings for guitar to midi I'll post those shortly - I just need to run home and eyeball them.

Tips:
-the shortest possible USB cable to the first USB port on the machine (no USB hubs or the like).
-the cable itself should be a nicer one - no freebies that you got with your HP printer.
-GK levels set to 22 to 24 per string.
-Beyond that I'll post my other settings shortly.

Thanks, aliensporebomb!
I have GK install on a Les Paul. I have lost the number of times I've installed and uninstalled the GK o my guitar.
The high E string is really a problem for me. My GK levels are all different. The high E string level is about 50, but the G string is 10! The corvature of GK is my big problem. It's OK to play the VG-99 presets, but is not good for softsynths.
I have followed the instructions in the manual but no luck...

I have an Axon AX 100 MKII, a VG-99 and a Roland GR-50. The gr50 works the best of the three for playing midi soft synths from my experience. The Axon works second best and the VG-99 is a distant third. My brother is a Mac guy and Im planning to try using the 99 to trigger soft synths on it using usb to see if the Mac drivers are better than the PC ones. Ill let ya know.

I found that the VG-99 was only really usable if you were using the USB connection.  I never did post the rest of my settings - when I get home I'll look at posting those.

Settings (better late than never):

Note: even though settings are at MONO it doesn't mean I can't play chords on the system.

Example (both VG99 and softsynth sounds):

Single notes work too:
