Tamas Barabas, Hungary based bassist, kindly introduces extra patches for SY-1000 Bass Mode. This collection offers funk bass synth patches for adding variety of tone to your SY-1000 patch library.

So here are all of the presets. Typical Boss fair to be honest (mostly crap) but it's clear the capabilities of this unit are pretty amazing.
You have to see beyond the continuous blues licks to be honest!  ;D

Compare above the the SY-1000 Sound List PDF and see the CTL effects modifiers

I think that this gives a better idea of the sounds on board the unit, same guy, just an edit of the original.

Looking forward to some of the patches that this forum will create. Who's going attempt Baba O'Riley first?!  ;D

^ Sadly its Mono. and poor Youtube MP4 compression looses bulk of the 32 bit details the SY-1000 is capable of.

Still not a good demo IMHO

Watching now. More in depth than what we've seen so far.

They have a stereo room mic for the voice overs - but Not sure why these reviewers insist on only rendering SY-1000 Left Mono Output only to their recorder

Only delivers a partial SY-1000 sonic experience

In fact many factory  SY-1000 patches are in glorious Stereo - but so far there are VERY FEW examples of this on Youtube

Hopefully in a week there will be a genuine full stereo demo of the SY-1000

Until then  - the Alex Hutchins and Tamas Barabas  SY-1000 demos at the top of this thread are in Stereo

Watched that earlier, Mono again  :-\

These guys are going for the lo-fi approach. There's not a lot of creative use of the filters, the envelopes and the LFOs. That said it does show some of the architecture and depth of the unit.

Shows it in action with bass guitar as well; which is cool for those curious about that mode.

Yeah that's cool I picked up a secondhand GK2A pick up for my Fender VI bass so I'm looking forward to trying it on that. I'm doing more bass gigs than guitar gigs at the moment so the SY 1000 may have to come out on some of those.

They also need to look at the set up of their guitar and bass, it looks like they're set up quite hot (especially the bass) there's lot of extraneous noise coming through in this demo.

Great to see more on the internal workings of the SY-1000,
but OMG !! (subjective opinion alert) they made some crappy tones,
chiptunes and floppy wet fart sounds are not my thing.
and the "Midi pickup" thing keeps getting mentioned again !!

Yes , but I'm getting tired of the term midi pickup  ::)
It's not that difficult to understand what a hex pu really is , is it ?

I play Country music too, I'm just not sure which country it's from...

Having run this forum for over a decade - Ive discovered

* Nobody reads the Owners Manuals

* People would rather seek confirmation bias from their peers, instead of forging their own path and seeking their own sounds

* only 0.01% of Guitarists on the globe understand basic concepts of the gear we talk about daily

* 99% of the Guitarists still think Gk-3 is a MIDI Pickup

You forgot the last bulletpoint:

* The more F-bombs you drop on video, the more hip you'll seem.
