So one/more of the AA batteries leaked and shorted out the circuit board and (of course) they're not made anymore. Should I just buy a loaded pick guard and call it a day?

Good luck locating ANY parts for Fender / Roland G5

(The Fender / Roland G5 Owners manual mentions removing the AA batteries when not in use for a reason)
QuoteRemove the batteries whenever the unit is to remain unused for an extended period of time.

Can you take a picture of the board - maybe its salvageable.

That's what I was going to say.  Some devices with corroded battery issues I've been able to salvage through careful effort.  Pics of the cavity?

Here is a pic. This is right where the power leads come into it.

Probably not the best pic but the offending corner is upper right. Looks pretty singed. Roland gave me an RA number if I want to send it back. Does anyone think they can fix it? Thanks for all the replies!!

Where are you located - I would definitely give it a shot.

I'm in Melbourne, Florida. I'm still debating on sending it back to Roland.
