Problem du jour: I am running a Gm70  into an old Roland keyboard -not so much for sounds but so I can use a piano sustain pedal. Today I started noticing that the pitch jumps on held notes, usually a whole tone higher. The keyboard doesn't appear to do this when tested by itself, just when with the G707 (and hence, the GM 70) is being played..  I'm hoping I just need to clean the cable contacts, but I have a feeling  I might have to locate some more thirty year old hardware or a VERY seasoned repair tech.  Any one else had (or heard of) this problem?
TIA

What you describe is a common problem with pitch to MIDI especially the early systems.

Sounds like you're getting a false trigger from the second harmonic which is the high octave.

There's lots of information on the forum how to mitigate some of the tracking issues, such as using flat-wound strings, mechanical dampeners, and certain kinds of picks.
