Actually this should be straight forward  - the MIDI Designer ATG template contains most  MIDI controls for ATG

My goal is to not depend on a PC/MAC to create presets, specifically alternate tunings. On the Luthier KIT and AT-200, it is not possible (AFAIK) to set up the pitch coefficients to the cent. The MIDI designer Layout is not capable of doing this either. It is only built based on the MIDI CC reference. Presets are pushed to the board via Sysex.

I tried to sniff the communication with MIDIOX but for some reason when this is running, the presets manager only communicates partially with the guitar and throws an error. Besides, it does seems to be very complex so a little help here would be great.

For Antares internal kit / AT-200 users  - try the "Fret Control method"

Fret control is not accurate for creating custom alternate tunings. They would not be exact as setting up the coefficients.

If you are seeking micro tonal  / non western tunings  / scales- IMHO  you will be extremely frustrated with the Antares ATG

its goal is to align all notes to be in "perfect western pitch" - you either enjoy this, or feel it gets in the way of your guitar artistry

I would not use use ATG  for playing middle eastern music

this sums it up

QuoteIt sounds interesting for sure.  But being a fan of eastern microtonal music and the Hendrix junkie that I am, I would need the ability to disable the correction.

I am not at all looking for microtonal but to have a repertory of different tunings. Even very low Bass ones.

What I meant is this (below):

Then use the ATG Manager to create custom tunings and store them as presets

QuoteHi guys,

I'm thinking of picking one of these up.

look in the used channel  - Antares ceased all development for the ATG Guitar hardware and dropped support in 2017
