Maximum expressive power with minimal space

The EV - 30 is an expression pedal of space - saving design that is best suited for incorporation into a pedal board system that is hard to secure space. Adopted a robust and stable aluminum-die-cast enclosure that can withstand severe tours and violent performance on stage. Even though the size is compact, BOSS tradition's reliability and durability are intact. Moreover, it is realizing smooth and delicate parameter control by the special mechanism of the movable part by original design. Two EXP OUT terminals are carried and two devices can be controlled with one pedal, further reducing the space. Combined with compact pedals with expression input terminals, multi-effects, switchers, etc., it is one of professional specs that will broaden the range of expressive power.

But I got more gear than I need...and I like it!

Roland did this with the FV-300L. It could be used as a stereo volume pedal or an exp pedal with two outs. I have one and it has worked for many years. It was 4''x12'' and was most likely made of steel.

Very tempted to buy this pedal so that I can change pitch simultaneously on my GR 30 and my Kemper,  so I tried a little experiment before ordering .  I took an exp pedal  that works properly with both and put a stereo Y headphone cable into it - one side going to the Roland GR 30 and the other to my Kemper,I set them both to the same pitch, which had to be a perfect fourth up, due to the limitations of the GR 30 selections for pitch, setting the Kemper to the same pitch. I tried each unit separately without the Y inserted,  and both went to a perfect fourth up.  However when I put them both on the stereo Y cable, the Kemper  still went up a perfect fourth, but the GR30  would not reach the perfect fourth, as it was quite flat.  I then tried both set up an octave -still no go as the GR 30 is still flat. I'm sure there's some kind of impedance mismatch because of the Y cable, but I thought I would try it before buying an EV 30.  So if anyone was wondering if this would work it does not,  but it was worth a shot .

The EV-30 does use a dual pot which an ordinary Expression does not. A split will typically lead to wrong impedance in the single pot and unexpected bahvior. Run to equal pedals at the same time to test this out properly. The GR-30 wants to see a 10k ohm pot while the Kemper calibrates to whatever pedal that is stuck in its controller input. Therefore the Kemper works as you want and the GR-30 don't.
To V or not to V: That is the question.

Yes, the pedal works fine with the GR30 alone, as it does have a 10k pot, just not with both into a y cable, so I will probably order the EV 30.

If you think a y cable will allow you to connect one expression pedal to two  destinations,  you have a poor understanding of the Roland/ Boss expression pedal circuit interface which requires a full TRS cable for each connection

At any rate, I learned by old fashioned trial and error. Since it was a stereo Y, with both females stereo, I thought it was worth trying, as I already had it, just took a couple of minutes to connect.
