Technology topic aside, Billy Idol hit the jackpot when he formed his band with Steve Stevens. He's an amazing, and very creative guitarist.

Its all about your talent , applied practice to master your craft,  timing, and  manager , and getting placed with the right opportunities

Its a small world at the top

Kim Milford ( briefly lead singer with Full Moon, Beck, Bogart, Appice, and star of movie "Laser Blast" wanted to talk about his manager again; he was still frustrated because Bill Aucoin (who also managed KISS ) wasn't making a strong commitment to him. He told me that Bill brought a band over from England that he was excited about. It was Generation X, and the lead singer who was maybe nineteen, was another blonde. The guy was Billy Idol and Bill was going to make him a star. Kim said Bill said he had already made the same commitment to him.

QuoteSteve Stevens: By the early 1980s, I was living in New York City and playing in a band called the Fine Malibus. Bill Aucoin, who was also Kiss' manager, managed us. But things weren't really happening for us. So at one point I got a call to go to a meeting with Billy Idol ( of UK's "Gen X") who was ready to put something together in the United States. At that time I hadn't met any real rock stars, and it was exciting to be around this musician who was so driven and charismatic. Knowing practically every musician in New York, I was enlisted to help him put a band together.

This is one of my favorite YouTube videos of all time. Plus it showcases the GR-33!  I really want to learn this song too - what fun to play!

Sigh...
a "12-pin" plug that sort of looks like a Din plug...and transmits it's "MIDI" signals to the first (?) Roland GR-33 synth to use this system...shame it's full of uninspiring sounds that you can't modify....

...and we worry about AI.... ::)
Read slower!!!   ....I'm typing as fast as I can...
