My 1st gen MeloAudio MIDI Commander on MIDi Toggle mode - transmits either MIDI CC# value 0, (Off)  or MIDI CC# Value 64 (on)

Perhaps they updated this on latest Firmware

Ah - yes.  In thinking about this again I realized that I'd updated the firmware prior to examining the output with a MIDI monitor.  Interestingly, there's no mention of this change in any of the release notes for the various firmware revs.

Would be great for us users if Elantric would compile a MUCH needed editor for the Midi Commander.  I believe the sourcecode is available somewhere.

Its easy to program right on the unit

Be sure you have latest firmware

As as always, use a third party MIDI Monitor to verify desired MIDI messages are being sent

Thanks Steve!
I got one used for 50 last year and it works great as you suggested to me in another thread. I can control GP10*, VG99 and Ableton Live Looper instances! I'll look into those new options.. :-)

HXStomp firmware (dfu_package_v3_for_line6hx_stomp)

Pay it forward time because this took me way too long to accomplish as the Meloaudio web site seems permanently abandoned and the DFU upgrade too was a big pita to get working on Windows 11 (longer write up on that to come if there is interest). So, if you are looking for the HXStomp firmware (dfu_package_v3_for_line6hx_stomp) update for the Meloaudio Midi Commander or the Harley Benton Mp-100 or whatever they call it I found it at the following link at the very edge of the interwebs...

https://www-kikutani-co-jp.translate.goog/itemlist/20740/dfu_package_v3_for_line6hx_stomp/?_x_tr_sl=es&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=wapp

I also found an updated manual in Japanese but would really like an english one if anyone has a copy out in vguitar land;
https://www.kikutani.co.jp/wp/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/MIDIcommander_manual_2022.pdf

the manual has links to files too;

ie; https://cdn.shopifycdn.net/s/files/1/0142/2137/7594/files/DFU_Package_V3_For_Line6HX_Stomp.zip?v=1610098413

Hi everyone,
First post in the forum. I am using the MIDI Commander in HX Stomp mode to send commands to my Stomp, and one thing I noticed is that with Key4, instead of sending MIDI CC# 70 (All Bypass) to turn the bypass on/off it is sending CC# 52 to trigger FS4.

I've been planning to get another dual footswitch to connect to the Stomp's EXP 1/2 (FS 4/5) jack to add 2 more switches to assign in stomp mode. Problem is, it will be a bit redundant since Key4 in the MIDI Commander will have the same function as one of the switches.

I've been trying to configure one of the custom modes to mirror the HX Stomp mode, but I can't wrap my head on exactly mirroring the settings albeit with some small tweaks. I don't even know how the HX Stomp mode was configured to do Bank Moves of 3 increments because in the manual the only options are 4x, 5x, 8x, and 10x.

I was wondering, is there any way to modify the Midicommander_line6HX3x_V5.dfu file so that I can just change Key4 to send a different CC#? I have been successful in extracting the S19, HEX & BIN files out of the DFU file by using DfuFileMgr, but that's about it. I have looked up how to interpret the HEX files, but the one I read had some assembly code outputs which are now gibberish to me since I gave up on it back in college like, 28 years ago :P

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

So... owners of Meloaudio MIDI Commander are kind of stuck in.
A lot of abandoned links and I cannot find a way to manage DFU FW upload.
I am lucky latest update I did was ALL CC so I can use it and at least manually I can revert some of them to PC at least... but I have no manual. Is there someone with DFU, Firmwares and Manual on their drive (I didn't downloaded them to permanent location back in the day - lesson learned)

Thanks in advance

I have a copy of the all CC firmware, which includes the DFU application in the zip file. The last firmware that Meloaudio released was the one for HX Stomp, I believe. I also have a copy of the manual. If the links Elantric provided above are not working for you, I can upload it somewhere if you want.

I have uploaded the zip file here: Meloaudio

I just googled free file upload sites without registration and clicked on the Transfernow site. I was going to use my Google drive, but it's already at its 15GB limit (the max for free storage on google accounts). But if you prefer a different location for uploading the file, lemme know and I'll do so.

MeloAudio is deceased

If seeking a ToneShifter Mega, look at the Xsonic Xtone Pro

For MIDI CONTROLLERS , PAINT AUDIO  is the new company built by former MeloAudio engineers

I recommend NOT buying from the Xsonic page.
They sent me a beat up defective unit that they wanted me to pay for shipping back to China!
Buy it local, or somewhere you can return the unit if there are issues.

These guys are great and very well priced:

Also, Amazon is a good choice.

Internet eCommerce it's a jungle... Thanks Bill. Good to know.

For small companies return policies are very expensive so I understand their point. When you sell and ship a product you already pay a payment fee and shipping. On return you pay shipping again plus import tax and then possibly another payment fee. Then you have to sell it again and lose a payment fee and shipping again. By now you lose money. Amazon doesn't care but someone is always paying the price.
