Hi guys, if I build a DIY y splitter in a box, what happens to the gk vol signal? Let's say my gp-10 is set to control patch volume, what will the gk vol do to my gr20? Can I cut it off with a switch or will that mute the gr20. Also why are there protection diodes on the secondary GK switches in some schematics? I'd like the option of disabling the GK switches to the gr20 if possible because I only use a few patches. Any advice or experience would be appreciated.

The most important thing to look out for is the +7 and -7 volt power supplies from each GR unit,
only one unit can supply the GK pickup.
If both supplies are connected together, a unit which is not switched 'on' will draw in the back-fed voltage.
Cutting the GK Vol wire might mute the GR-20. the GK Vol is a voltage ranging from 0=minimum, to +5V = maximum.
You could use a resistor voltage divider or a 5 volt regulator chip to control the GR-20. Maybe add an external Vol control.
The S1/S2 switches can be disconnected on one unit.
