go to the 6minute mark and listen to Paul Youngblood's announcement of "BossTone Central" - where he implies that an online "ToneStudio" application will allow sharing of presets for multiple products. This might include the GR-55 eventually  - its implied, since the GR-55 is  featured on the Boss guitar site
Currently the Boss ME-80 is featured and nothing else.

Boss GT-001 Downloads
http://www.bossus.com/gear/productdetails.php?ProductId=1320

You must install Boss GT-001 software in this order:

1) Install the Boss GT-001 USB Driver

I suggest before proceeding, confirm the Boss  GT-001  USB Driver is correctly installed by connecting the Boss  GT-001  by USB and then look in the Windows Control Panel and open the Boss  GT-001  Control panel and verify you can adjust the  GT-001  latency buffer.

2 ) Install the Boss Tone Studio for  GT-001 (download from the Roland site)

One important aspect for Windows users - you must have a live Internet connection during the BOSS TONE STUDIO for  GT-001  software installation procedure
because midway thru the processes you must install Adobe Air.
You might have a clobbered Adobe AIR installation - suggest re-install it from this link here:

The Tone Studio shows a blank screen like that if it does not ''see'' the GT-100,
USB driver must be installed correctly, and your GT-100 must be running Firmware level 2 check version as follows

How to tell the version

Please check the version of the system working on your GT-100 before downloading the archive file.
1.Hold down [ EFFECT ] button and [ SYSTEM ] button, and press and hold POWER switch.
The left display will show the current version number at "Ver."
2.Press and hold POWER switch to turn off the power.
*Don't perform the update if the product is already up-to-date.

latest version is 2.03

You must also be using the Version 2 USB drivers too.

Is your notebook running Windows 7/8/8.1 32 or 64 bit (full windows version) or is it a Surface or Rt version?

When the Tone Studio editor installs, it usually also installs "Adobe Air" which is required to run tone studio.
Possible your install didn't allow the Adobe Air update via the interweb.

Also try GT-100FxFloorBoard patch editor

Hi, I'm also experiencing this same problem.

I used to use the librarian when my GT-100 was running ver 1 f/w.
Earlier in the year I bought a new PC and used the new Ver3 driver and upgraded the GT-100.
But I've never been able to use Boss Tone Studio.

In order to try and fix this I recently upgraded the firmware to v2.03
I uninstalled the Ver2 driver and Adobe AIR and then reinstalled both.
Also reinstalled BOSS Tone.

My GT-100 is connected fine to the PC and works perfectly with Sonar or any other apps, but just has problems with BOSS Tone studio.

Interestingly if I do not connect the GT-100 then BOSS Tone will indicate it can't see the device.
I can then plug in and turn on the GT-100 and hit the refresh button on BOSS Tone and then it shows the GT-100 in the listed devices (along with the DAW control), but when I select the GT-100 the application goes dark and a flashing BOSS Tone icon pulses in the centre of the screen.

Left it for hours to see if it was synching but never times out.

My system is Win8.1

Also I tried loading the drivers, latest AIR and BOSS Tone onto a win7 laptop, and an old Vista PC.
But all 3 have exactly the same symptom!
Also tried different USB cables.

The common element hear is my GT-100, which is running the latest update and other than that appears to be working perfectly.

If anyone has any advice at all it would be much appreciated, this is driving me nuts!

Hi, After checking all over the web and reading every manual and getting nowhere. I've finally managed to resolve the problem!

For anyone else having this issue:

On the GT-100 go to System / MIDI Settings.
On page 2 make sure MIDI in select is set to USB (Auto)
and make sure MIDI out select is set to USB

All springs into life!

Its best to ask these questions on the GT-100 area.
I dont use one of those myself - but we have many others here who will be happy to help answer these questions
