Is anyone using this with the Digitech Trio+? The Trio+ does NOT have MIDI.

Here's what I'm trying to do, it's a little klunky, but it's just and idea. Setup is Guitar->Trio+->BOSS RC-500, all via guitar cables. I just use the Trio+ to get a bass part, and then use the RC-500's drums. This way I can separate the 2 instruments, loops (bass parts) on OutA, and drums on OutB and can control vol/EQ/FX separately for each. I use Track1 for a "verse" part and Track2 for a "chorus" part.
  • I record a pattern on the Trio+
  • I record the Trio+ bass (only, i.g., NO drums) track on Track1 of RC-500
I have 2 issues
  • Seems like "Auto Record" doesn't jive well with "Measure length". With auto record, when I play the pattern on the Trio+, it start recording on the RC-500, but it does NOT stop recording after 8 measures, the number of measure I set the for the RC-500 track. I have to press Stop.
  • I have the Track set to Tempo Sync (TEMPO.S = ON), but the drums get out-of-sync with the bass part. I have a feeling this is related to the first issue, as the track length is NOT exactly perfect since I don't press Stop at the perfect time.
Any pointers to do this better? TIA
