Several FX feature a Trigger parameter (Twist, Warp, Feedbacker, etc)

Which specific FX Trigger are you interested in?

it's not an effect particularly but I don't understand trigger  advantage  over a simple on/off

Some effects are not switched on and off within the chain, but are permanently on. the actual effect is then started by the trigger.

Trigger means here to start a certain effect at a certain time ( e.g. as soon as you press a button).

E.G. assign CTL1 to the trigger of the feedbacker. Your guitar will start to sound like a feedbacking guitar as soon as you press CTL1.
