This plugin allows you to build your own custom effects with the emphasis being mainly on distortion and tone shaping along with other useful effects. This is free and open source for Mac, Windows, Linux and IOS.

Looks like an interesting project, they even provide the source code too.

Yes, I was trying it last night and in addition to the various distortion modules there's also a nice chorus, an IR loader, a tuner and other modules. However I do have some advice for anybody downloading this, there's a bug that's been reported over on the KVR forum near the bottom of the page here:

My advice when using this in a DAW is to either (naturally) avoid using these two modules talked about on that forum or to mute the track before making changes.

Sounds nice. On Mac Mini M1 and Ableton Live it takes 1 GB Ram when used as a Plugin. Kind too much compared with others. I think it will improve over time. Thanks for posting!

1 gig of RAM?  :o  That's way too much. When I was testing it on my Windows machine I noticed the CPU was a little on the heavy side at 23%. Hopefully he'll optimize the plugin a little more. BTW the issue with the volume spike I talked about has been addressed in a nightly build available here:
https://chowdsp.com/nightly.html  Scroll down to BYOD.

I tested BYOD with Compressor, Chorus, AMP IR, Delay, Spring reverb and Gate to reduce noise.
Made a preset and duplicate the track 8 times. RAM usage jumps to 3.76GB in Ableton live from 900MB (Custom default template)
In any case a very good product! I opted for a 8GB Mac Mini so I am RAM savvy. Using internal Ableton Effects I can have a good sound without the RAM usage but BYOD has it's own character that I like.
