Sorry Steve - didng know where to post. Probably not the forum for this but thought I'd ask cos there are some serious tech heads here.

For no apparent reason, in the last 2 months my 2496 has got stick at 48khz. I can't adjust from with the maudio control panel.

If I go into Windows device management it only offers 48khz DVD quality at 16 or 24 bit. The let other application control option is ticked.

It seems like something else is taking control of the 2496 at boot and won't let go. For example if I open Soundforge it reports unable set sample rate.

There are no audio apps in msconfig start up.

Its driving me bonkers!!!

Running Win 7 sp1 on a dual Xeon Dell shire horse (I know what I mean - it weighs a ton lol!).

I've reinstalled drivers.

Any ideas?

If you also use Sonar  - there might be a persistent setting

and check the RATE LOCKED setting in the Maudio Control Panel

If you use Windows make sure the interface is not selected in Control Panel - audio devices.
