What are the "Init" patches? Just less over the top than Boss's?

What are the "Init" patches? Just less over the top than Boss's?

An "Init" patch is usually a term for an "initialization" patch.
Meaning a blank patch with a few generic settings like a low gain Preamp with generic tone settings, and very little or no effects.

Yep, it's just a blank patch. For some reason, engineers think it's cool to do that instead of setting up a usable generic patch as the default 'initialized state.'

It's not meant to sound good. Its ugly name and soulless tone is meant to reassure you that, yes, the machine really did wipe out *all* the patch's settings.
