PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Featuring the ability to create 36 unique loops per song, add unlimited overdubs for each loop, and record up to 48 hours (when using an SD card), the Aeros loop studio goes beyond what's expected of a looper pedal.

Blurring the lines between traditional loopers and audio workstations, the Aeros allows you to mix your tracks live during a performance using the built-in scroll wheel, and gives the ability to save and export songs. This will let you share your best loops with your fans.

With its 4.3″ touch-enabled screen and color coded cues and waveforms, the Aeros looper will never leave you wondering where you are in the loop.

Additionally, the Aeros packs tons of power into a small form factor. Coming in at just 7.8″ x 5.6″ (198 x 142 mm), the Aeros lets you add a 6 track, stereo looper to any pedalboard.

Of course, we had to to make the Aeros fully compatible with our drummer pedal: The BeatBuddy. Using the two together is a plug and play experience.

Our looper pedal also features bluetooth and wifi, enabling us to add exciting new features with over the air updates. Simply put, there's no other pedal that can match the Aeros Loop Studio.

FAQ at bottom of page
https://singularsound.com/product/aeros-loop-studio/

Why are loops different colors?
The Aeros Looper uses a color coding system for loops and cues. This helps to give you the most visual feedback at a glance.

Red means recording, green is the track/overdub which is currently selected and playing, blue is a track that's playing but not currently selected, and yellow is an overdub that's being recorded.

How does hands-free mixing work?
The looper's included scroll wheel will control master volume while playing a song, but if you hold down the song part button (left) you'll enter mixer mode. In this mode you can switch between tracks with the looper's built in comfort+ buttons and control their volume using the scroll wheel as well.

Simultaneous parallel and sequential loops? Tracks and song parts? How does that work?
When looping, traditionally there have been 2 main modes that looper pedals operated. Parallel mode let you record multiple tracks that play on top of each other, while sequential let you record multiple tracks which play one after another.

The Aeros Loop Studio allows you to do both simultaneously by enabling you to use 6 tracks (parallel looping) in 6 song parts (sequential looping). This results in a total of 36 unique loops!

Perhaps best of all, you can mute any of the tracks and go to song parts out of order, all with just your foot.

Will tracks be locked to the same length?
Nope! Each track can be a different length. The looper will automatically sync them to the measure. This means you could lay down a 2 bar bass track, then come on top with a 4 bar rhythm guitar loop before finishing up with an 8 bar lead guitar loop.

You can even combine loops with odd numbered measures and even number measures (a 1 bar swell with a 4 bar bass line). The Aeros will sync them together seamlessly.

Is this quantized? Is there a freeform mode?
The Aeros will let you play in both a quantized and freeform mode.

In the quantized mode it will sync your loops to the measure.

How are loops saved?

Loops are automatically saved as songs in the form of wav files on your pedal's onboard memory or SD card. These songs will retain all of the tracks and song parts that as well as the settings.

You can name/rename and delete songs, letting you save your favorite loops for use later during a jam session or show.

What Instruments does it work with?
The aeros will work with anything that can send signal through a 1/4″ (6.35mm) connector.

Will the Aeros work with Microphones?
Yes, provided you use a cable that ends in a 1/4″ (6.35mm) plug and/or a preamp.

The Aeros does not feature phantom power.

How does it work with the BeatBuddy?

When using the Aeros and BeatBuddy together, the BeatBuddy will control the tempo and time signature. Pressing play on the BeatBuddy will start the Aeros, and stopping the BeatBuddy will stop the Aeros. In addition, both pedals will sync song part changes.

Gearnews readers should have met the company through Beat Buddy . At the time, it was the most funded musical accessory in crowdfunding history. Now Singular Sound wants to shake up the market of Looper with the Aeros Loop Studio.

Singular Sound Aeros Loop Studio
When Eros Loop Studio of singular sound is a Looper in slightly larger stomp format. The internal memory can record, store, import and export 3 hours in mono or 1.5 hours in stereo . With a separate SD card you can extend that to 48 hours - amazing!

Infinite overdubs, up to 36 tracks per song
Each song can contain 6 tracks in parallel and 6 song parts in succession . Mind you in stereo. Your tracks can even be quantized in every time signature . There is no limit to overdubs.

touchscreen
Thanks to a color 4.3 '' touch screen , the user gets a very visual feedback in real time. The tracks with their waveforms and functions like record, overdub, play etc. are color coded . This looks really clear. Almost like in your DAW. Underneath the hood is a 32-bit Foating Point processor, recorded in 24 bits with a latency of 1 ms and a frequency range of 20 Hz - 20 kHz .

Hands-free mixing
While the 4 footswitches cover all conceivable basic functions (start, stop, record, etc.), the built-in scroll wheel is used for freehand mixing of the tracks during your performance. Other functions can be controlled with an external expression pedal. Thanks to MIDI I / O not only effects can be controlled remotely, but also drum machines and of course the in-house Beat Buddy * synchronized.

Wifi and Bluetooth
In addition to a USB interface, there is also Wi-Fi and Bluetooth . Apart from updates , the exact functions are not yet described.

Thought through?
Overall, I like the concept of the Eros Loop Studio very well! While the feedback among the videos is mostly positive, there are some complaints about the price here and there. Honestly, in comparison to the BOSS RC series , the buyer gets a color display with touch function! However, what bothers me is the lack of a mic input. The Looper community is big and versatile! In my experience, the hip loop enthusiasts are not limited to just one instrument, but make great arrangements with opulent setups of various instruments and microphones.

price
The first batch is already sold out. The second shipment of the Singular Sound Aeros Loop Studio can be pre-ordered for September and currently costs $ 590 . Later, the device will cost $ 770 .

thebrushwithin

While the SD storage capability is really impressive, and on some other forums, the discussion included pre-loading drum loops in advance, isn't it just a lot simpler to use mp3 backing tracks, if you are going to have your arrangement predetermined?

TimTheWorshipLeader

To thebrushwithin, the Aeros looper allows all pre-recorded loop sections to be selected and/or repeated on demand via footswitch controls, much like the Digitech Trio+, only with more song sections available.  So, while you're performing live and you decide that you want to repeat a verse, or chorus, or go back to the intro, or repeat a solo section because you and/or everyone else is really into it... you can do that!  Complete control and complete flexibility with the most realistic, best sounding drums on the market today, in my opinion. And no other brand has those capabilities.  A one-man-band can now truly sound and behave like a real live band.  And that's incredibly awesome!

===
Why are loops different colors?

==
Is this quantized? Is there a freeform mode?
The Aeros will let you play in both a quantized and freeform mode.

In the quantized mode it will sync your loops to the measure.

==
How are loops saved?
Loops are automatically saved as songs in the form of wav files on your pedal's onboard memory or SD card. These songs will retain all of the tracks and song parts that as well as the settings.

==
Will the Aeros work with Microphones?
Yes, provided you use a cable that ends in a 1/4″ (6.35mm) plug and/or a preamp.

The Aeros does not feature phantom power.

==

==
Can the Aeros store up to 48hrs of songs via SD card, is that in stereo or mono? And how many songs can it store?
The Aeros can store up 3 hours of recorded music in 24 bit format. You can increase this to 48 hours by using an SD card (32 GB max size).  Each song can have up to 20 minutes of recording time. 48 hours is mono 24 bit audio.  Stereo would be 24 hours.

We are building a "Free Sync" Mode for the Aeros, it should be ready at the time the Aeros will be shipped.

Free Sync mode = record loop without any beat or timing, and all loops after that will be multiples of that loop.

==
How does Aeros react when there is tempo change? Does it stretch the loop ? Also, how does it behave when it is midi synced with a tempo that change constantly (say, every beat has a new tempo, like natural fluctuations - about 5% of tempo variability)?
Currently, the loops do not stretch to tempo changes.  However we do plan to build this feature before the end of the year and it will be a free update.

==
How many inputs does the Aeros have? What are their features?
The Aeros has two mono inputs and one stereo aux input, so it could be done. However, please note that the aux input recording function will probably be completed in a few months so it might not be ready immediately.

Master/Slave

The BeatBuddy will slave to the looper and the looper will slave to the BeatBuddy.

The Aeros can control the BB tempo, start, stop and transition. But not fills, songs selection, settings, etc – we may build that later, but it's not built yet.

Next Track Button / Song Part Button

The Next Track button is to start another parallel track which will play at the same time as the other tracks.  The song part button will take you to a new section where you can have an additional 6 parallel tracks.

==
Is the Aeros "suitable"/comfortable to use as a "desktop" Looper? Does it have balanced inputs?
Yes, it is perfect as a desktop looper. However the inputs are unbalanced.

==
Can the Boss RC10R integrate with the Aeros?
No.

==
Does your looper provide reverse and octave shifting? Beat Detection?
Currently there are no loop effects built in to the Aeros, but it is on our development timeline.

Beat detection is not currently built, however it is on our development timeline.

==
In the free mode can I have six independent stereo tracks?
Yes.

==
Is there a jack out for headphones?
We do not have a headphones jack out, but you could use the aux out jack as a headphone jack.  However you may need powered headphones in order to get the signal level as high as you would like.

==
Could Bluetooth be used for phones?
There is Bluetooth, but we have not built that feature yet however it is a good idea and we are looking into it and building it.

==
Does the Aeros generate or lock to midi time code (MTC)? What about midi clock?
The looper has been designed to sync and to lock to and generate a MIDI clock signal, as well as follow and generate start and stop commands.  Additionally it will change song parts when it receives a transition command from the BeatBuddy, or if the Aeros is master, tell the BeatBuddy what tempo to play at, when to transition, what part to play, etc.

==
Do you think your new looper could be used by a completely blind person?
We did design the looper to use the touch screen extensively, including setting up songs, and visual cues of when the recording will start and stop, etc.  The basic recording functions can be done with the footswitches, but the touch screen is necessary to set up songs, choose settings, etc. However we are doing our best to design the menus on the touchscreen to have large buttons to make it as easy to operate as possible.

==
I've seen a cloud icon in video about Aeros. Since it has wifi it got me thinking that cloud support (dropbox, gdrive, icloud) is possible. Will this be an option later on or the icon was only referring to OTA updates?
Cloud storage is on our development timeline.

==
Does Aeros support beat detection as some other loopers? Lets say I record something (w/o midi tempo), will it autodetect bpm?
It does not currently, but it is on our development timeline.

==
I am just wondering what the stereo Aux send and return jacks do on the Aeros?
The aux out right now is so you have the option to send the click track in order to keep it from bothering your bandmates/the crowd/audience rather than out the main outputs. The aux in is planned to be used as an additional port to record backing tracks into the looper.

==
Can I record a loop in song part 1 and after that a loop in song part 2 or 3 etc. without playing back the previous recorded loop? Or will every loop play back after recording and I have to wait with recording the next loop in another song part until playback is finished?
Yes, you can record a loop in each song part without playback.

==
Can I sync Aeros with one another?
Yes you can sync as many Aeros together as you want.

==
I would like to know if Bluetooth and WiFi are on/off switchable or do they constantly emit?
You can disable them.

==
How do you start recording a loop/track then hit a button to go STRAIGHT into recording another track/loop? (Rather than playback first, then record another loop).
For parallel tracks you press the next track button. For sequential you press the song part button, though with 6×6 mode you will need to press the record button after you press the song part button to select the next song part. The currently recording track will be saved automatically without having to press play on it.

==
How do I mute a track without double tapping a switch? Perhaps via midi?
This can only be done with an external midi controller like the Midi Maestro.

==
Can the Aeros reverse play (play songs backwards)?
It is on our development timeline.  Not available at the present time.

==
Would it be possible to send two different signals to 2 different amps? One to a bass guitar amp, the other to a guitar amp.
Yes, the Aeros can have up to 6 parallel tracks, each with a different length. You can plug a guitar into the left input and put the left output to your guitar amp and put the bass into the right input and put the right output to your bass amp.

It arrived !

The Power Adapter is 9VDC @ 500mA

My Aeros Loop Studio  arrived with Firmware 2.2

Easy to connect to Wifi- and download the update latest FW

After the download - it auto reboots and applies the updates - it will hang at 98% for 2 minutes, then again 99% for another minute (Patience!)

Then reboots with the latest Firmware fully installed (FW2.8.2) (Oct 28, 2018 )

Its beautiful and perfect size & Features for me - not the aircraft carrier of many competing loopers (RC-300, Headrush LooperBoard)

Hurricane

 8)
Size matters to me .

This unit looks really small compared to the Boss RC300 - or my first looper , a Digitech GNX4  , they do kinda look like an aircraft carrier heh heh heh , my TC Helicon VL3X looks twice the size of the Singular Sound looper.   I like a less a footprint approach on stage.

Give us a taste of your bad little boy's power/ease/coolness.

Aeros firmware 2.10.0 is now up on the server available for download via WIFI.

Here is a direct download link 3 of the firmware file if you prefer to update without wifi through the SD card. To update through the SD card, rename the downloaded file (currently named aeros-2.10.0.bin) to aeros.bin and then place it on an SD card and into your Aeros before turning it on.

2.10.0 Changelog:

New Stopped screen: When the song is stopped, a new screen is displayed. This includes info about the song, the input signal meter (useful to test your instrument's signal level before recording to avoid clipping), and buttons to edit the song, go to the home screen, start a new song, and save the current song.

Changed to Manual Save: Previous versions of the firmware saved the song automatically every time the song was stopped. This caused some delay as the song was being saved so the Aeros could not be started again immediately. With the new manual save system (you must press the save button on the stopped screen to save the song), you get to choose when the song is saved. Saving a song merges all overdubs with the base tracks, which frees up more memory for more recording in the song.

Added pop-up when attempting to exit Loop Studio screen without saving changes (changes are still present, but could be lost if another song is loaded or device shut down)

New track clock graphics: Undo overdub vs undo entire track. If only the overdub layer is undone, the track clock will have a small hole. If the entire track is undone, the track clock will have a large hole.

You can undo and redo both layers by holding down the RPO (Record/Play/Overdub) button – first the overdub will undo (if it exists), then continue to hold to undo the base layer. Hold and continue to hold to redo.

Increased next track forgiveness to 1.5 seconds: If you tap the next track in 6x6 mode and accidentally start recording a new track, tapping it again within 1.5 seconds will delete the accidentally recorded track and move you to track 1.

Changed the active song part to have a blue square around it: Previously, the currently playing song part was missing a blue square while the non-playing song parts all had blue squares around them. This new design is easier to see.

Added 0.5 second forgiveness lag for End of Measure commands: Now if you miss the end of measure by 0.5 seconds or less when recording or changing song parts, Aeros will behave as if you triggered the command on the End of Measure that you missed. This allows you to trigger commands on the End of Measure line, without having to worry that you'll miss it.

Fixed 6x6 cancel recording: When using a count-in to record in 6x6, the 'Cancel Record' command was not working. This has been fixed.

Fixed white lines location in mixer that show the neutral position of the volume sliders.

Temporarily removed the capability to edit the name of a song, since this was causing the audio files to be deleted. Song name edit capability will be enabled once this bug has been fixed.
Added saving of undo state: If you undo a track, it will remain undone, even if you save the song and load it again later. Undone overdub layers will be deleted.

Fixed bug: When stopping Aeros during recording (instead of pressing 'Play' to capture the loop), only
the first measure was captured. Now the entire recording is captured.

Restored master volume to default neutral level after loading a new song. Previously master volume was at the level it was last set to.

Added Wifi Status on Home Page so you can quickly see if you're connected to Wifi.

Added Unmute All button command when master volume is selected in mixer

This is a beta release of the firmware, so we are not uploading it to the Wifi.

If you want to test this, you will need to use the SD card update method. To update through the SD card, download this file 9, rename the downloaded file (currently named aeros-2.12.2.bin) to aeros.bin and then place it on an SD card and into your Aeros before turning it on.

To go back to the previous firmware, use the same method to install firmware 2.11.1 3

Firmware 2.12.2 Changelog:

Added Freefrom mode (see known bug below)
Re-sync system: Aeros now follows BB midi clock. This corrects any 'wavers' in the master MIDI clock to resync the beginning of the Aeros loop playback to the begining of the measure. See it in action here:
Made recording measure count number in track clock bigger for easier visibility
Added Line-in impedance setting. Sets the input sensitivity: Instrument level (1M Ohms impedance) vs Line level (50k Ohms impedance) Instrument level is about 10% more sensitive than Line level.
Added more WiFi statuses in the home screen to indicate if internet and server connection are successful.
Fixes

Fixed signature 2/4 not accepted
Fixed info box message for "click after recording first track"
Fixed recording count starting at 1 during a cue of recording.
KNOWN BUG: When using freeform, all the startpoints of the loops get aligned, even if they were not aligned in the first place.

We need your feedback

What is the ideal way for freeform to function:

Should the start points of all tracks be forced to be at the same time – a track won't begin recording until it reaches the 'loop seam' of the previous track. Or should it start immediately whenever you hit the next track button (the way it is now).

Should tracks be kept as multiples of each other (each track can only be exactly as long as the previous track, or 2x or 3x etc as long)? This would keep the tracks from going out of sync with each other. Or should they be any length (the way it is now).

Should song part changes only happen at the end of the track or immediately (the way it is now)?

Any other improvements to this mode?

We will be adding small (4~ ms) cross fades to loop seams and when changing song parts to remove the 'popping' noise as the track ends are crossed. This is not present in this version.

Please post any bugs or suggestions below. Thank you! :smiley:

Anyone here using the Aeros successfully? I use the Beat Buddy all the time and syncing with the Aeros for looping with guitar parts sounds interesting.

I have one - the Firmware is still evolving , should be a solid tool by April 2020

They also have the new MIDI MAESTRO which I am trying to figure out how it all fits together.
