Is it possible to assign the acoustic patch to the first three strings and the sitar patch to the bottom three strings of my guitar via GP-10..?...

Thanks in advance  :) :)

I think the closest you're going to get is to use a combination of 1/4" input and modelling, mute strings as required. Of course individual muting won't work for the reg guitar input.

Plan B is to use MIDI in from the GP-10, but that's not the strength of the unit.

Edit: The VG-99 was made for that.

the instrument modelling can only do one instrument at one time.

Options are:
add an extra GP-10,
add a GR-55, VG-8, VG-88,
get a VG-99 (has 2 modelling engines inside).
Free "GR-55 FloorBoard" editor software from https://sourceforge.net/projects/grfloorboard/

I know music is entirely subjective and all but that doesn't seem like it would give you a very interesting sound anyway. You'd be compromising both sound and playing style in some way. That said you could have sitar on the top three strings and eq all the high end off the regular guitar to give a faux upper string mute maybe.
