I saved a few TSL patches in Tone Studio that are over 8 MB each. I tried to load one here and it gave me an error saying it can't accept more than about 5.2 MB for a file.

I'm sure it's a rookie error, I haven't posted a TSL file before.

8 MB files seem like the size of the entire User patch area ,or entire "LiveSet"  - not just one SY-300 patch

Suggest read the Boss Tone Studio User Guide manual on how to save and load one patch *.TSL patch file.

compress it with WinZip or 7Zip (or your favourite file compression to make a *.zip file)
It will squeeze right down small and easy to upload/download.
Do that if you want to post an entire library of patche

A single patch should only be 80KB in size.

To save a single patch, create a new empty Live Set, and drag just the one or two patches required to it.
The patches and the live set can have description comments added via the edit button next to the name.

when i drag the sound I want to put into an empty live set, and take it from lets say my backup of all the sounds i made [mixed with some i downloaded], and try to drag it to that empty set, it does not transfer over. Im at a loss on what to do. Id prefer not to remove sounds from my unit only to have the ones i made, so i could share all of them [that would be annoying]. but as for now it seems the only way.
