Title: ATG-1 Hex output voltage, I know it's not autotuned, this is not an about that.
Post by: 80Hz on February 16, 2023, 08:00:52 AM
Has anyone experienced issues using the hex output to another device?  I recently plugged the 13 pin output into an AXON AX100mk2, and it may have caused the death of that device.  I'm not really sure, as I wasn't watching at the exact moment when it happened.  I plugged in then stepped away, came back and the AXON was dead.   It may just have been it's time to die, but since it was the first time I'd ever plugged the ATG output into the AXON it got me thinking,  If the 13 pin jack is a parallel as the manual claims, then what happens with the voltage being supplied on pins 12 and 13?  You wouldn't want that voltage going to the next unit (which is also sending power on those pins).   So I plugged a cable into the ATG output and put a meter on those pins, it showed 4.3V, not the full 7V supposedly required, so they've done something to lower it.  I've been successfully using the ATG-1 output into my GR-55 for hundreds of gigs and had no issues. Someone suggested that the Roland may have some buffer on it's input that the Axon lacks?  It seems odd that Antares would create a 13 pin pass through that could damage another unit.   So back to my question, has anyone in this group had issues using the 13 pin output of the Antares?

Do not use the GK Output on ATG-1
Antares did not follow the GK 13 specs and this connector has  DC voltage on pins 12,13

This can damage connected third party GK Processor
