This is an old thread - but wanted to update it by adding new information about the Fishman Tripleplay being the "new high speed Guitar to MIDI Conversion  / low latency  / fewer glitches" solution in 2013.

I own an Axon AX 100 MKII and a Roland GR-50 as well as a VG-99. I use the GR-50 for 99% of all my midi triggering as the Axon is really glitchy.

Necro bump but I wonder if some of the problems were from this issue

I would get small volume fluctuations but in turn this would create false triggers of the same note.

I made up ten patches with these settings to find which one was best for whatever I was trying to trigger, its crazy what a difference it can make.

I just picked up an AX 50.  Playing with the editor but not sure that I follow your settings shown here?  Is there a place here where people can share their AXON SysEx files?  I'd love to try loading your settings.  I'm having trouble getting pitch bend to track right.  I set my soft synth to PBR of 12 to match the editor, I turned off Quantize in the Editor and I hit resend on the PBR in the editor, but still not working.

If you give me a day or two I might be able to upload a config file with those settings as I'm away fromt he unit that has them right now.

This is a good video to watch and he shows his patch settings at the end.

These are the two settings that I'm referring to on the editor. You cannot view this attachment.

For leads I would try the setting 7&8 on my list (common/separate with OFF for quantize)

IMO it's easier to get usable tracking out of Roland tech than out of the old Axons - I found it very easy to dial in my SY1000.  However the Axon is still ultimately faster, and once you've tidied your technique, as accurate and considerably more flexible with the fretboard splits and picking sensitivities.

I also found my Axon worked better with piezo guitars than with hex pickup guitars, which was pretty much the universal opinion on the old Axon forum.  I think Shingles got really good results out of a GK converted G707 TBF though ...

I haven't had cause to use it in ages - there suddenly seems a lot of interest in the units though so I'll try to dig it out and play with it again.
Main rig: Barden Hexacaster and Brian Moore i2.13 controllers
Boss SY1000/Boss GKC-AD/Boss GM-800/Laney LFR112

Other relevant gear: Line 6 Helix LT, Roland GR-33, Axon AX100 MkII
Oberheim Matrix 6R, Supernova IIR, EMu E5000, Apple Mainstage, Apple Logic, MOTU M4

Is the G707 a 24 converted to 13pin? Would be curios to see it!
Mine is a frankenstein!
