Dan with Godin

Really glad to find this forum. As my user name states I now have the Godin nylon string version (ACS-SA Slim) which has a neck only 1/16 inch wider at the nut than most steel strings. This extra width helps me a lot and is the reason I chose it.

My main goal is to find something that will give me really good electric bass sounds in order to use my Boss looper to create both guitar and bass lines on the fly.

Hope some here can guide me down this path and also suggest which section of this forum this request would be best to post in. Thanks in advance for any help in this quest.

QuoteThe simplest box is a generic pitch shifter/octave pedal at -1 octave,
but since you have a 13 pin GK Ready guitar, you have options to chose Boss GP-10, Roland GR-55, or Boss SY-1000 for the current in-production units which do "HRM Modeling" (Harmonic Restructured instrument Modeling).
Older units are VG-99 (still a great unit), VG-88, and VG-8.

the GP-10 is a good starting point, if you want more (analog styled) synth and better amp modeling, the SY-1000 is great.
If you want basic modeling and PCM synth sounds (piano, sax, rompler instruments) then the GR-55 covers all that too.

I did obtain the Boss GP-10 and have been digging deep and am finding it very useful.

Originally was going to use my looper  to play parts, guitar and bass in the duet with my fiddle playing wife. But now have set it up with bass on the E and A strings and sending that to a bass amp using the left/mono output. The normal sound of the guitar is sent to a guitar amp using the GP-10's guitar out. It turns out that I was playing bass parts while playing rhythm all along. So cool!

Another use I have found is with the band I'm in where we consist of me on bass, a mostly lead guitarist, a drummer and a female vocalist. We now have several songs where I play rhythm guitar and bass giving us a bigger sound. They are suggesting that I do more. Yay!

Great to see (hear?) that you have taken a nibble at the GP-10, soon you will be upgrading to the SY-1000, it's like 3 x GP-10's in one box.  8)

From just a nibble to a smorgasbord. I may develop the appetite at sometime. Thanks for the reply.
