I have a VG99 connected via MIDI OUT to JV1010. In my area a GR33 at a good price has recently been put on sale. Is this the same as the setup I already got or GR33 has some inner advantage in terms of playability? (Latency)

Thanks

The GR-33 has a bit faster Guitar to MIDI

it remains Steve Vai's favorite GK Processor

the built in GR-33  tones will trigger faster and more reliable than VG-99 GTR to MIDI driving JV-1010

Thanks Steve.
I have always concerns when Guitar to MIDI or Pitch Detection is involved.
It looks like GR33 does the conversion 'in the box' so maybe by eliminating some in between conversion and or hardaware(MIDI Cable) it's better.

Curiosity : MIDI Protocol specs a serial communication (slow) but once a note is detected and converted by the GR33 can be pushed faster towards the PCM Engine?
