As would I. I really enjoyed the website - great description...maybe I like it so much because it's so similar to what I do...but _MUCH_ better public presentation that I make time for ;-)

Thanks Elantric ;D

Very very interesting, good pictures like that, can tell a million stories.....thanks E
Q... What kind of advice can you give me ?   Tommy Emmanuel's reply ....

You move your hand Up and Down that long bit and the music comes out of that Big Black Box behind you !!

That does look like a VERY neat guitar.  $2800 in parts and 137 hours labor at $25/hour (low low low for a luthier) = $6225 guitar. Not bad for this instrument!

OK, help me understand the breakout box. Is the benefit for having several guitars plugged into it? If you can plug your vg-99 directly into any midi system or computer, how would this box be a benefit? TIA

In the case of Ricky Graham's Septar board break out box - this provides the low noise path for a Guitarist to harness the power of PD (Pure Data - Spatial Gesture Recorder)

Ok, I think I get it now, It will run pure data (MAX/MSP and such) Like Ableton Live, only direct from guitar to their software. Again, no practical experience with this, so I am trying my best to understand the language.

Just a quick update: seems that the Firebird X new RIP interface has an ADAT out to send separate signals from the strings.

That's great. Now, WHY doesn't it have USB or some other method for connecting without an additional interface to a computer?  Why?  Makes little sense to me.  Ok.  Sure. If you happen to have a stand alone recording device...say...and ADAT...which has Lightpipe input you can record your individual strings directly to that.  Then, transfer it to a computer?

To me this is: So close, and yet still so clueless.

I LOVE the hex guitar world...but cannot figure out WHAT Gibson was thinking with the particular feature set they included.

But, it is kinda cool that there is at least a digital output for each string. Gotta hand them...something..for that.
