Hi Guys,

Been here for a while now but I thought it was about time I introduced myself.

I have a fairly eclectic mix of gear:

Electrics
----------
Gibson Dark Fire x2 (DF 0890 + DF 1152)
Gibson Les Paul Custom '68 Reissue (2003)
Gibson Explorer Pro (EMG 25th Anniversary pups)
PRS Custom 22 Brazillian (x3)
Fender Strat '62 Reissue (MIJ)- EMG DG20s
Danelectro DC59
Home made (by me) Telecaster
Wilson Ranger 2 (1968)
BC Rich Warlock
Carvin DC400

Acoustics
-----------
Martin 000C-16RGTE
Fender F65

Amps/Effects
----------------
Vox AC30/6
Various Line 6 combos (I mainly use a Flextone III on stage)
WEM 2x12 cab.
Vox Wahwah (1960s)
Home designed ToneBender Mk. II clone (Fuzz)
DigiTech EX-7 Expression Factory

Been playing guitar for around 40 years - and I'm still not very good. :-\
But I love it anyway! Here's a clip from one of our gigs a few years ago:

The biggest regret of my life is that I slept through Jimi Hendrix's last but one gig (Isle of Wight festival 1970).

Great forum. Without it I would have been lost with my DF.

Morning after must have been a pain!!! Oh well, makes for a great story to tell I'm sure.

PS. You're the only person with 2 DFs that I know of. Good on you!

Welcome on board!!! Many thanks for your contribution.

You can say that again. I'd met up with about 20 friends and friends-of-friends and we all missed it. I still remember waking up and asking around only to be told by someone sitting next to us that he'd already been on but that he wasn't very good! Having seen his peformance, it wasn't one of his best gigs. But I'd still like to be as good as he was on an off day!

The result of not having slept for 3 days and doing all those things you do at festivals when you're 16 years old. 8)

By the way, I think Justin Hawkins also has 2 DFs!

Thanks for the welcome guys.

Adrian.

Re Hendrix,  - I was living in Chicago, and a few older buddies went to see him, in 1970  -

The next, day I raced to school, as I was excited to find out all the details of his performance -   but my buddies were bummed, as unfortunately he canceled the show, saying he was not "on" that night, but would return in a couple months.  - which never materialized.

So close, yet so far.

. . . the future ain't what it used to be . . .

Yeah.

At least I can say that somewhere, deep in my subconscious, I've heard Hendrix live!  :-\
