Ampeg AUSB-1 Devil Bass

Came across one of these guys... The fretless type on the right... Made around 67 / 68. Good playing condition & very sweet mellow sound. Apparently less than 20 were made in its day so this is indeed a rare piece. I think I will have to find some more space in my apartment!

Called in & reserved it. Probably will be able to collect next week. I am committed. There goes the potential Moog purchase... Thought long & hard about it and reckoned I can always find a Moog but this thing will be gone once its gone! I am excited.

Its here!!! I am so very happy with this find. It sounds very very close to an upright bass. Feels great on the fretboard.

He heh. Nice analogy. You're right. Its real hard to choose. But compared to your hay stack mine is just a little pile. I am still waiting for that long ago promised family shot. Yes, a shot under the lemon trees will be lovely!
