Hi folks,I have a question regarding the startup time.My gr-30 takes a full 2 min and 10 sec to startup and show the a11 patch display. Also once started up the display will flash from "pdl" to "a11" back and forth(not sure if this is normal).Anyways because of the long startup time I can not seem to initialize the unit by powering up and holding the pedal down.Tried holding it down for the full 2 mins that it took for the gr to start up but no luck.Appreciate any suggestions, thanks.

Sounds very long - typical when the internal Battery has failed

Change it

Well....changed the battery and no difference(I never did get the Bat warning at startup so makes sense)I did however manage to get into the sys re-set and once I did that it starts up normal.I did a reset on the patches too.Been playing with some of the sounds and now have to go through the learning curve of making my own patches.Doesn't seem too bad tho at least making single layer patches ;D.
Sure I will have more questions once I get deeper into it.Thanks for helping with this,I for one am pleased that there is still a forum for the gr 30.Cheers.

Hi ,thought this would be worth mentioning. The gr-30 still boots up slow but only the first time. The hell with it ,I can live with that i guess.
Just throwing it out there in case anyone else has had this problem.as far as I can tell it seems to work ok after the first boot up,It takes like 10 seconds to boot up the second/third/fourth  time. Will keep you posted tho if there is any more F'd up actions on the gr30.Thanks,Glen.

I think maybe internal electrolytic capacitor replacement is required.
Especially if the GR-30 is getting near the 20 year average lifespan of an electrolytic capacitor.

This is exactly what I just posted about (although I am not experiencing the long startup times).  Did your issue resolve?

Thank you!

The OP posted that the startup delay was not fixed, but the battery replacement and factory reset fixed the flashing A11 - PDL problem it seems.
