Hi everyone!

I just received my Line 6 Variax Standard today and when I was trying it out with the magnetic pickups I heard a resonating/high chime sound, especially when playing the D chord. I've tried to lower the magnetic pickups but it is still there, so it's not string pull I guess. When enabling the modeling the same can be heard but it's much harder to detect but it is still there. Is this normal is the guitar bad, or the setup?

If its a High gain Guitar amp , yes Variax will exhibit higher noise anomalies

It's not on high gain at all, it is on a clean setting on a VOX AC4. It can be heard when using the magnetic pickups and when using the modeling (less pronounced) and even when playing the guitar unplugged.

I've included a recording of the sound. The recording is from a VOX AC4 straight into Garageband on a iPhone. No effects are active on the amp/pedals/recording. You can hear it if you focus on the higher end sounds that don't belong to the chord (D and E chord), it's almost like a spring reverb or a ringing tube.
