Will a GR-1, GR-30, etc. work with a GK-3?

Yes - after you adjust the STRING SENSITIVITY

I found the sensitivity of the GK 3 to be too low for consistent tracking with the GR 1.   The GK 2a has a higher gain and the better choice for the GR 1 as originally intended.

If using the GK 3, it has to be set with matching radius to the bridge saddles rather than the fingerboard and set much closer to the strings than recommended.  Even so, tracking is less consistent and you have to set picking dynamics so that light attacks of the string trigger the voices.

For the technically minded, the difference in gain of the GK2 v GK3 op amps can be seen in the schematic diagrams.

I also tried a GK 3 hex pick up with a GK 2 and measured the gain, it too provides slightly lower output.
