My favorite sounds so far are the ambient-oriented ones with the extra tall note pads.

It's disconcerting to me to play note pads without any control over dynamics, other than reaching for the XY pad or volume slider.  However, there is a Variances panel that allows you to tweak random variations in pick position, loudness (velocity), material, etc.

I bought it and have basically just played the presets, but from that point i think it is quite expressive and pretty awesome to play, I cant wait to have more time to dig into it

Jordan's tips for getting expression out of the Shred Lead patch - he shows how you can use the mute and stiffness sliders so that your shredding has some dynamics, and thus you avoid sounding too robotic.
