Does anyone else find this?

I use the FS-6 to add extra controls on a given patch. The thing that confuses me is this - when I press a switch on the FS-6, the light comes on and the programmed changes occur. However, to switch off, it takes 3 more presses of the switch to get the configuration back to the original! First press - light goes off, but programme doesn't change, 2nd press, light comes on again and change returns to original setting, finally third press turns the light off and remains at original setting. What's happening here then?? Confused....

Cheers

Which Footswitch do I need? .. Latch or Unlatch?

GT-100 assign  [toggle] + FS-6  [Latch] = double latching, pedal requires 2 presses to do one function (effect on/off)

GT-100 assign  [toggle] + FS-6  [Moment] = press once to toggle effect on/off, pedal led only lights while held down

GT-100 assign  [moment] + FS-6  [moment] = effect only on while pedal held down, pedal led only on while held down

GT-100 assign  [moment] + FS-6  [Latch] = press once to toggle effect on/off, pedal led toggles with effect status

Hi, you CAN use FS-6 or FS-5L ("latching" footswitch) with the GT-8 (or GT-10 or GT-100).

It is mentioned on the Boss website and in the manual.

Also, if you know the "GT-8 Brilliance" PDF on page 83, there is a misinformation there also. It says you can't use a latching switch, because of the additional presses needed.

Bottom line : See page 60 of the GT-8 manual (https://static.roland.com/assets/media/pdf/GT-8_OM.pdf):

Assign Source Mode : Selecting Normal or Toggle (it defaults to Toggle).

Set this to "Normal" when a latch-type foot switch (such as
the optional FS-5L) is connected...

Using a Latch type footswith (FS-5L or FS-6 in latching mode) works great, if you select "normal" as the source mode.
Using FS-6 in latching mode also permits full use of the LEDs to monitor the on/off state of the effect.

I hope this breaks the myth...

In older Roland /Boss Owners Manuals when they state use a  "Normal" switch , they are saying use  a Normally closed momentary switch.

When they mention use a "Toggle" Switch they, they are saying use a double throw /latching type switch.

Meanwhile with GT-100 FX Control assignment Source as  [moment] + FS-7 side slide switch set to [Latch] = press FS-7 once to toggle effect on/off, and FS-7 pedal led toggles to match effect on/off status

Thanks Elantric for the complementary GT-100 info (witch I don't own). I did'nt know about the FS-7... maybe I should have bought this smaller pedal instead og the FS-6. But hey, the FS-6 works fine.

Do FS-6 & FS-7 perform all these functions for GT-100/001 without the power, if I don't care about the LED?  Thanks.

FS-6 has an internal 9volt battery, FS-7 requires external 9 volt DC power.
Both require power to work.

If you are not worried about led status indication, then any other momentary or toggle dual foot switch will do.

Momentary switches will give you more options of use per patch, by setting the momentary or toggle/latch status of the GT Assigns.

Thanks for the replies, guys.

Such as this momentary switch, will work for all functions (toggle/latch modes) of GT-001?
