I just installed a Tronical Tune on my JTV-69US, and I thought you'd like to know that the C1 version of it fits just fine.

It does seem to add a little weight to the headstock, but the guitar still feels balanced. It does a great job of tuning, though.

interesting, but the Variax has alterante tuning as well , isn't that a little redundant? So what else are you gaining with  Tronical Tune???

Frankly I find any DSP generated alt tuning system ( VG-8, VG-88, VG-99, GR-55, Variax, Tyler Variax) will never fool any player with ears who has a concern for tone and sustain.

Anytime I feel "too happy" with my tone, and instead want to be depressed and annoyed with bad tone, and zero sustain, I will play slide guitar in a DSP generated Alt Tuning using any of the above systems.

Retuning the actual guitar strings to my desired Alt Tuning for singing Lowell George/ Sonny Landreth Slide tone works far better for my needs.

Definatly makes since. I have only been using one tuning on the GR55 and that's the Rolling Bones paych for a couple of stones songs. Drop D I use my Les Paul.
I bought a blowout Jtv89 to use to build a Lefty ,but haven't decided If I'm gonna do that or just sell it.
Fortunatly I haven't needed any open tunings, for live recently.

FWIW - the Tronical C1 also fits the Korean Tyler JTV-69 and JTV-69S

( I have a Tronical C1 on my JTV-69)

Might also fit the new Yamaha/Line-6 Variax Standard too
