Observations

* GT-1 is cut down and essentially 1/2 the signal routing options of GT-100/ GT-001

• GT-1's Six Control Assignments Omit external MIDI CC# as Source

* No MIDI CC# transmission

Gumtown mentions

No dedicated Chorus effect, and no custom preamps or speaker cab detailed settings, only generic cabinets.

I guess this is the most they could 'shoe-horn' into a cheaper DSP package.

The Boss GT-1 Facebook page is getting a good international user base - including  Japanese Guitarists

I hope we can pursue global dialogues and compare our wishes for future Roland / Boss products there.

Boss GT-1 Multi-Effects Pedal
http://www.reidys.com/blog/roland-grand-piano-boss-katana-amps-909-reissue-and-more-909-day-1501/
This is a new multi-effects pedal processor. It's got a very simple layout that means it's incredibly easy to use, for any level of player. It's got a huge variety of sounds, effects and even COSM-fueled amp models in there so it's just as suited to beginners as it is pros. The simple layout means you can turn effects on/off, call up the on board tuner and looper, or completely switch sounds at the push of a button or the kick of a switch. However, it's also got deeper editing capabilities meaning you can really shape your tone to your liking. It can run off batteries (up to 7 hours), and fits in a guitar gigbag, so is great for busking or for any other musicians on the go. With classics such as the Boss OD-1 and more built in, the new Boss GT-1 is sure to be a hit with a massive range of guitar players for all sorts of different purposes.

These FX appear to be exclusive to Boss GT-1

A-DIST:
This effect uses MDP (Multi-Dimensional Processing) technology to provide ideal distortion in all pitch ranges of the guitar, from low to high.

OVERTONE:
This effect uses MDP (Multi-Dimensional Processing) technology to add new harmonics to the sound, producing resonance and richness that was not present in the original sound.
