I often use 2-3 wavepedals at different settings to the same parameter.
Like pattern in slicer or tremolo speed , master delay time etc
Gives a more random effect ( which I prefer)

I play Country music too, I'm just not sure which country it's from...

That's a good idea to assign different settings to the same parameter target. On the SY you could have individual strings (source) each trigger a different range of patterns using the assign method that  I posted above.

I just setup a patch with a different range of slicer patterns triggered by playing the low E string, and again for the A string while the wave pedal triggers another range of patterns triggered by any string.

Just a dumb question...

Is a Sustainer "mandatory" for using the SY-1000 (and GM-800...)? I mean: does it have a way to keep the notes on when playing to do something like bowed strings or pads?

In SY there's hold on dynamic synths ( + maybe osc synth ) + the sound hold fx block. The first is great , you can combine it with sequencer , like this example.

The sound hold fx has a "click" bug but can be used in other ways.
Also "This function will not work properly when two or more notes are played simultaneously."
