They have strict rules about Manufacturers making new posts at TGP  - (they do suffer higher "shill / user" ratio over there)

But they read "V-Guitar" and  assume I'm on the Roland payroll

If they read your posts here then they would know that you definitely do not work for Roland. Or just send them the thread on those 3 Roland GS pedals that quickly went from $300 to $99.

Of course now those $99 GR-S & GR-D pedals are now $400 (!) and apparently used by Jeff Beck

And as always it's buyer beware. When i first saw those pedals advertised as new on ebay for $300, i thought they were just released and new to the market. So i asked here and was directed to that old thread. When a link here sent me to amazon, where a Rogue electric sitar was trying to be sold fo over $6000, i was happy to see that one of the reviewers reported that those sitars orginally cost less the $400, and could still be found at a resonable price. Just because someone is asking a dreamland price, doesn't mean that's what they'll sell it for, although it may happen. As they say, ''you can fool some of the people some of the time.''

Headless68

Steve - from your meeting with Yoshi - did you get a feel for his interest in the advancement of Guitar technology? - I wondered if the 'formal' hand off from Roland to Boss opened ant doors ?

It keeps them in the game  - Maybe we will get lucky at 2018 Winter NAMM?

I have been thinking for a while to post this. I guess this is the right time for it now approaching the 10 year anniversary.

Has there been any thoughts of creating a proper WIKI associated to all we discuss here? The Forum is full of knowledge but to be honest, sometimes it is hard to find information. Even knowing what you are looking for because you read it somewhere, it can be tough. I know the Wiki will take effort but it can be a joint effort.

The Forum can coexist anyway as a complement and active discussion. However, as soon as a discussion reaches to a conclusion, it can be added to a proper Wiki page where it will keep a summary of the specific Topic.

What do you think?

That was a really interesting read actually

( people cant read)

I use several types of gear - regardless of manufacturer, and I'm far from a "Roland/Boss or die" fanboy ;)

But anytime I share relevant info with a link to VGuitarForums,   I  have had  several occurrences of Admins on those DSP MFX forums delete my post or ban my user account

Then mention the reason was:  VGuitarforums is a "Roland Only Web site"

Rather wish we had pursued the "FutureGuitarNow" domain as our main forum
In this era "VGuitar" has negative baggage - bolstered by dominant YouTubers who still insist:
QuoteThe GK-3 is as MIDI pickup, and Roland/Boss are stuck on COSM  - and all COSM sucks"
Never understand why folks get hung up on using only the gear of their idol -
and only a few free thinkers use gear from any vendor that floats their boat for the task at hand,
While the dominant cultural phenomena has become: folks do NOT want to hear about alternative gear, and try to dis and stop the free sharing of information and experience from users of "other gear"  - Instead they are intent on strangling the free exchange of sharing knowledge, because the truth might impact their own back door monetization path.

VGuitarForums remains independent, and 100% user supported - There is no paycheck from any vendor to support this site.

- I play both Gibsons AND Fenders, and Kemper, SY-1000, Mustang GTX,  Valeton, and NUX MG-300
and can tell you a lot about each  - but we live in a 10 second sound bite  - low attention span, society that dislikes reading.

Steve I'm curious how you use the Valeton & Nux. I thought the Nux was mostly a "beginner/practice" device. Thanks!

Either sound 1000 % better than a POD HD500 , or GT-10

They are powerful little boxes

The NUX MG-30 and iPad could be all you need - as that supports feeding DRY guitar only to USB Audio Out
But the internal sounds are just as capable as any other 2020 DSP Amp modeler  imho

They get more things "right" for MY needs vs a lot of latest Boss or Line-6 Gear

(TRS STEREO AUX INPUT - eliminates need for separate mixer

24 bit USB AUDIO CLASS COMPLIANT
Record Stereo Audio  straight into ipad or Android phone with a USB cable + CCK

Already observed MG-300 sends MIDI CC# and sysex over USB

Same with Valeton GP-100 as its a baby Hotone Ampero ( same company)

Buy one of each - feed the MG-300 TRS out into the Valeton GP-100 Aux IN, and use a A/B selector box in front of both ( $150 each)

IMHO its lower cost than many alternatives - still fits on a mini pedal board and offers lots of versatility and delay trails
I got MG-300 for $129 ( spent more than that for snake cables for AXE FX )
and GP-100 for $145
