Ive been trying without success to find a thread to see if anyone else has this problem.
Some of the patches I'm downloading sound wrong. For instance the patch will be "Tears in Heaven" and when I put the patch onto the GR55 it will be a trumpet sound with distortion.
Is this just a corrupt file or is there something in my settings that is causing this. Most patches are fine.

one of the first things that I think might be happening is you are using the Roland GR-55 librarian to preview the sounds. Sometimes it has been known to do some funky things like have an organ in all downloaded patches. I recommend using gumtowns GR-55 Floorboard editor it is a much more useful program.
