I was curious about my GP-10's firmware version, didn't find any info on how to get the LCD screen to show it, so I tried some startup pushbutton combinations...

Turning [OUTPUT LEVEL] to minimum and then powering up pressing [WRITE] and [MODELING/ALT TUNE] enters TEST MODE. [PATCH/VALUE] browses through it's 13 pages, which can be selected with [WRITE]:

01:VERSION
02:DEVICE CHK
03:CURRENT CHK
04:USB CHECK
05:ENC/LCD CHK
06:SW/LED CHK
07:VR CHECK
08:GK SW/VOL
09:AUDIO
10:SHOCK GK
11:SHOCK GTRIN
12:CALIBRATION
13:FACT RESET

Selecting PAGE 01 gave me "ver1.00 sum3293".

There is also a shorter way. Powering up pressing [WRITE], gave "Version Info Ver.1.00". The difference I suppose is, in test mode a checksum test is also done.

By the way, powering up while pressing [<] and [>] enters the GP-10 Updater.

Thanks for posting Man, I had been looking for "display mode" button (which has never been labelled or referred to in exactly those words) only to find that this didn't work anyway.

[WRITE] + Power brought up the version straight away! :D
